What's new

• Reading is context. A passage that holds the middle of the screen for 4 s of reading weighs what you are after and leads the packet. Turn on "Read with the pointer" and the passage your pointer rests on counts too, after a threshold you set (0.6–4 s). Skimming, idle time and hidden tabs never count.
• X, for real. Every post you scroll past is remembered as X recycles them, folds come back before re-rendered posts paint, opening a post is a visit that knows where you came from, conversations never fold, and messages are never read.
• Undo is feedback. Tacit raises its bar where you undo, lowers it where you rarely do, and stops folding where you keep opening folds.
• A context library. The dashboard at 127.0.0.1:7766 shows every page you read, what you read closely and how you got there, what Tacit learned, how to connect agents, and what it keeps. Delete a page, or everything, and the extension forgets it too.
• English and 简体中文, everywhere, following your browser.
• Calmer surfaces. Confirmations live in the line itself, nothing is said twice when the slip opens, the line moves on once a step runs, and when Tacit asks it offers three choices on ⌥1–3.
• Try it with nothing installed: bun run demo, then open 127.0.0.1:7777/try.
• Fewer permissions: no tabs, and host access narrowed to http and https.
• Design and decisions: DESIGN.md sets out the principles, every signal and its weight, and which decisions are code, which are written in advance, and which a model makes.

Upgrading from 0.1.1

Reload the extension in chrome://extensions and restart the harness. Your ledger in ~/.tacit carries over. In Claude Code, bun run setup moves the Tacit MCP entry to user scope, so it is there in every project.

Tacit 0.1.1

A small release: Tacit is ready for the Chrome Web Store, and says plainly what happens to your data.

What's new

• Privacy policy. PRIVACY.md lists everything Tacit reads, where it goes, exactly what reaches Jev, and how to delete it.
• "Local by default." The extension no longer says everything stays on your machine, because Jev, when you turn it on, sends decision requests to TypeSafe. The README now spells out what those requests contain.
• Chrome Web Store kit in docs/store: listing copy in English and 简体中文, permission justifications, screenshots, re-rendered with bun run store.
• Playwright 1.64.1 and actions/checkout 7.

Tacit 0.1.0

The first public release of Tacit.

Your agent should already know what you're looking at. Tacit reads the page you're on and how you got there, keeps it on your machine, and hands it to Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP agent. No more Cmd+A, copy, paste.

• Extension (Chrome MV3): senses the page and your path to it, the line, jump, focus, feed folds, copy commands, the handoff packet, choices when unsure.
• Intent with evidence and calibrated confidence; anything you state outranks inference.
• Decisions: a local engine offline, TypeSafe's Jev with a key, local fallback on any error.
• Harness: SQLite ledger in ~/.tacit, HTTP API on 127.0.0.1:7766, search in English and Chinese, a ledger UI.
• MCP server with five read-only tools: tacit_current_context, tacit_intent, tacit_trail, tacit_search, tacit_page.
