Tidy v0.1.0-beta.1 — experimental beta
Experimental beta
Tidy is a native Mac file organizer. Choose a folder, describe a sorting or renaming
task, and run a validated plan using a local AI model. This beta includes the
approved raccoon icon, native Organize/History workspace, model setup/storage,
bounded text/PDF/OCR naming and persistent best-effort undo.
Use disposable, backed-up test files. Clear requests change files without a
preview. Undo is best-effort, not a backup.
Download and install
- Download
Tidy-0.1.0-beta.1-arm64.dmgandSHA256SUMSbelow. - Verify with
shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMSfrom the download directory. - Quit other Tidy builds, open the DMG, drag Tidy Beta.app to Applications and
open normally. Do not strip quarantine or disable Gatekeeper if opening fails. - This is Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized and stapled. It is a direct download,
not a Mac App Store release. Notarization does not establish product quality. - Initial model setup requires explicit consent and a separate download of about
2.28 GB. No account, payment, cloud inference or automatic telemetry.
Compatibility and known limitations
- Built for Apple silicon, macOS 14+. Model setup currently requires at least
16 GB unified memory, but that floor and other Macs/OS versions are not qualified. - Observations are from an M4 Max / 36 GB / macOS 27.0.1. No hardware is formally
qualified. Do not interpret this beta as a verified supported-hardware list. - Provider nonhydration/revocation, broader real-world naming, memory pressure,
process/power-loss stress and isolated destructive lifecycle checks remain
unverified beyond recorded tests. Prefer ordinary local test folders, not
personal synced folders; existing sync services can transmit file changes. - Accessibility/system-effects review (#18) and clean-user GUI installation are
explicitly owner-deferred, not passed. Earlier formal native-offline,
undo-cancellation and diagnostic-export reruns remain deferred as recorded. - Beta and existing Tidy builds share the same app identity and storage. A renamed
app is not an isolated installation. Do not erase its container/history/models. - Tidy remains a working name with clearance unresolved. Source is MIT licensed;
dependency and model licenses/notices remain separate and are bundled as applicable.
Verification and provenance
- App source:
6bcb430a8680d22d36ec63a64e281f3368dea80b(merged through PR #20). - Full debug/hosted optimized suites, mounted beta/legacy images, native parser
containment and packaged offline real-model smoke pass. The real-provider
fixture is explicitly skipped, not an executed pass. - Unchanged synthetic corpus, agent assessment: 21/22 usable proposed names and
21/24 useful eligible cryptic names. The 100-file task including loading took
5.98 s on the observed host. These are not independent or hardware qualification. - Apple Accepted submission:
f1536e2f-958b-453f-87c7-c706dbd504cd, zero issues. - Final DMG SHA-256:
