# Update scientist settings

To update the configurable scientist settings you need to submit a POST request to backend/src/api/internal/list.php setting the action field to store.

Example:

    var settingsObj = {
        "consecutive_expected": 12,
        "votes_before_consensus": 15,
        "unreasonable_number_of_species_in_image": 10,
        "evenness_threshold_species": 0.69,
        "evenness_threshold_count": 0.7,
        "number_of_nothing_here_before_classify": 5
    };

    $.ajax({
        url:     "../backend/src/api/internal/settings.php",
        type:    "POST",
        data:   {
                "action"  : "store",
                "settings":  JSON.stringify(settingsObj)
                }
    });
The settings object:

The settings object is a simple JSON object {} containing different OPTIONAL parameters regarding the settings you wish to change.

  • consecutive_expected : Number of consecutive matching classifications expected before classifying.
  • votes_before_consensus : Number of classifications before consensus is run (if x matching couldn't be found).
  • unreasonable_number_of_species_in_image : Unreasonable number of species in the image that should be ignored
  • evenness_threshold_species : The evenness threshold for species number.
  • evenness_threshold_count : The evenness threshold for animal counts.
  • number_of_nothing_here_before_classify : Number of nothing_here classifications we have to see before we classify as nothing here
