v0.1.0 — ghost-text next-prompt suggestions

@xiaoshenming xiaoshenming released this 20 Oct 08:05

First public release. Works end to end on DSH Desktop 0.2.1-rc.2 (Windows).

What it does

When a turn settles and the composer is empty, one grey line appears on the composer's first line with a Tab accept chip. Tab inserts it into the draft; nothing is ever sent.

What is inside

  • Host half — POST /api/next-hint with loopback + same-origin checks, one request per session at a time, a cooldown, and one decoupled auxiliary model call at the adapter's cheapest reasoning level.
  • Browser half — mounts into the official conversation.composer.dock slot, watches session.running and the draft, paints the ghost, accepts through input.actions.captureInsertion/insertText.
  • Pure modules — src/contracts, src/trigger, src/context, src/generate, all covered by node:test (45 tests, zero runtime dependencies).

Install

Settings → Plugins → add, then restart once.

Notes

  • Silent by design: no route, timeout, rate limit, or malformed output all end as no ghost.
  • The ghost is positioned from the editor's [data-input-scroll] structure, so an upstream composer rewrite breaks it first.
  • Prior art: dsh-composer-prediction (2026-10-17) solves the same problem through different seams — see docs/RESEARCH.md §3.1. Do not install both.
