Early preview. Flowlight shows which app on your Mac talked to which domain, over which protocol, and how much it sent. It also watches AI agents for email, SSH, file transfers, large uploads and activity while you're away.

What's new in 0.1.1

  • ZCode is recognized as an AI agent. After the September 2026 incident, where ZCode uploaded workspace snapshots (mostly .git history) to Alibaba Cloud storage in the background, a transfer like that now raises a critical Possible exfiltration alert. It's flagged whether or not Flowlight saw the hostname.
  • More LLM providers: Zhipu AI / Z.ai, Moonshot (Kimi), Alibaba Qwen (DashScope API hosts only; the rest of Alibaba Cloud, storage included, still counts as non-AI) and MiniMax. That's 16 known agents and 25 providers in all.

Install

  1. Download Flowlight.dmg, open it, and drag Flowlight into Applications, replacing the old version if you have one. Prefer an installer? Use Flowlight-0.1.1.pkg.
  2. First launch: this preview isn't notarized yet, so macOS will say it can't verify the developer. Right-click Flowlight in Applications, choose Open, then Open again. You only need to do this once. On macOS 15 and later you can also use System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway.
  3. Approve the one-time Name Your Traffic setup so Flowlight can read hostnames.

Your history, settings and hostname setup carry over from 0.1.0.

Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel).
