Flowlight 0.1.3
Early preview. Flowlight shows which app on your Mac talked to which domain, over which protocol, and how much it sent. It watches AI agents, and the tools and MCP servers they start, for anything you wouldn't approve.
What's new in 0.1.3
- Quit & Install. Updates now download and verify against the published SHA-256 first, then ask before Flowlight quits. Quit & Install replaces the app and reopens it, keeping your history and settings. Install Later keeps you working. If you installed with the
.pkg, macOS asks for an administrator password to replace it. Open Disk Image is still there if you'd rather install by hand. - Network owners on by default. Traffic with no hostname is labelled with who operates the address (Cloudflare, Inc. · AS13335). Only public IPs are looked up, through Team Cymru's DNS service; private addresses never leave your Mac. Turn it off in Capture › Identify network owners.
- AI Agents layout. The agent table fits its rows, so the detail pane has room for tools, MCP servers and the allowlist.
Install
- From 0.1.2: use Flowlight › Check for Updates…, then Download & Open. Quit Flowlight first (menu bar icon › Quit), then drag the new version into Applications. Finder can't replace a running app and says it's in use. From 0.1.3 on, updates install themselves when you choose.
- New install: download Flowlight.dmg, open it, and drag Flowlight into Applications. Prefer an installer? Use Flowlight-0.1.3.pkg.
- First launch: this preview isn't notarized yet, so right-click Flowlight in Applications, choose Open, then Open again. You only need to do this once.
Your history, settings and hostname setup carry over from earlier versions.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel).
