Early preview. Flowlight shows which app on your Mac talked to which domain, over which protocol, and how much it sent. It watches AI agents, and the tools and MCP servers they start, for anything you wouldn't approve.

Update now if you use the system proxy with HTTPS inspection. In 0.1.4, Flowlight's own connections looped back through its proxy, which slowed traffic and recorded each request many times. 0.1.5 fixes it.

What's new in 0.1.5

  • Tool results. With HTTPS inspection on, every tool call shows what came back, the output or the error, read from the agent's next request to the model (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini) or from the MCP server's reply.
  • Tool calls and MCP servers tabs in each agent's detail. Tool calls lists each call with its command, result and the requests its tool made. MCP servers shows each server's name and version, local or remote, the tools it offers, and its calls and failures. Tools & MCP servers shows call counts and failures at a glance.
  • JSON tree viewer. Request and response bodies open as a collapsible tree in their original key order, event streams one event at a time, with a Raw view, Copy, and headers folded away.
  • Inspect in demo mode. --args -FLDemo YES now includes a synthetic inspected Claude Code session.

Fixes

  • System proxy loop: with Flowlight set as the system proxy, its own upstream connections were routed back into itself. They now ignore proxy settings, and a connection from Flowlight to itself is refused.
  • nettop hangs: a one-shot nettop sometimes never exits (seen at 130% CPU for 9 minutes), which stopped capture. Samples now time out after 5 seconds and sampling continues; quiet seconds no longer turn the status orange.

Install

  1. From 0.1.3 or 0.1.4: Flowlight › Check for Updates…, then Download and Quit & Install.
  2. From 0.1.2 or earlier: Check for Updates… › Download & Open, then quit Flowlight first (menu bar icon › Quit) and drag the new version into Applications.
  3. New install: download Flowlight.dmg, open it, and drag Flowlight into Applications. Prefer an installer? Use Flowlight-0.1.5.pkg.
  4. First launch: this preview isn't notarized yet, so right-click Flowlight in Applications, choose Open, then Open again.

Your history, settings, certificate and hostname setup carry over.

Requires macOS 15 or later. Universal (Apple silicon and Intel).
