What's new in 0.3.2

Export to OpenTelemetry or a SIEM — so what Flowlight records isn't stranded in a local file.

This is the first thing Flowlight does that deliberately sends recorded traffic off the machine, against a product whose pitch is "no account, no cloud, no telemetry". So it is built to be predictable rather than convenient:

  • Off until you configure it, and there is no Flowlight service to send to. You name the endpoint: your own collector, your own SIEM.
  • OTLP over HTTP with a JSON body — rollups to /v1/metrics, alerts to /v1/logs, because an alert is an event with a sentence attached and a metric would lose the sentence. Newline-delimited JSON is there for collectors that just want lines.
  • The panel lists every field that leaves, and previews a real payload built from your own data before anything is sent. You can know what your SIEM will see before turning it on.
  • Nothing from HTTPS inspection can be exported. Not by policy — by shape. The payload types carry rollups and alerts only, so there is nowhere to put a header, a body or a tool call even by accident, and a test fails if an undeclared field ever appears.
  • Auth headers live in your login Keychain, not in preferences, and only their names are ever displayed.
  • What Flowlight sends appears in Flowlight, in Live and Reports, like any other app's traffic — including a collector on 127.0.0.1, which is the common case and was the one that nearly got hidden.

Two things to expect. Rollups are folded about two minutes behind, so an interval under a minute polls more often without data arriving sooner. And Test connection proves the endpoint answers, not that it accepted your credentials — many collectors take an empty request without checking auth, so the "last successful export" line is the signal worth trusting.
