What's new in 0.6.1

One answer to how wide content is, and where it sits.

Five screens had grown five different answers — 860, 860, 820, 760 and 720 points — and three of them centred the result while two left-aligned it. On a wide display that put the Rules list and the Devices list floating in the middle of the window while the Capture form started at the left margin, which reads as two apps rather than one.

There is one rule now, in one place. Content is capped so a line never runs the full width of a large display, and it is always left-aligned, because everything else in Flowlight starts at the same left margin: the tables, the titles, the sidebar. Centring a column inside a left-aligned app was the thing that looked wrong.

Two measures, each with a reason. Prose — an answer in Ask, an explanation in Inspect — stops at about eighty characters, which is where a line stops being comfortable to track back from. Panels — cards, forms, rows with a control at each end — are wider, because the eye scans down them rather than reading across, but still bounded, or the switch ends up an inch away from the thing it switches. The gutter is the same on every screen.
