Runner 0.18.3

Runner 0.18.3 is a feature release for macOS, Windows and Linux on top of 0.18.2.

New

• Choose a project before starting. New chat and New mission now let you choose the project alongside the working directory. The choice follows matching directories, preserves worktree paths and explicit No project selections, and warns when the directory is outside the selected project. Chats added to a pane use their tab's project. (#968)
• A shared goal for every mission member. Crews no longer require a designated lead: every member receives the goal, team conventions and its own brief, and any member can be removed. runner ask "<question>" now asks you directly; --human remains an alias. (#873)
• Status for agents started in a terminal. Compatible programs launched by hand in terminal tabs can now report Working, Idle and Needs you through the Program Status Protocol (OSC 7501), including when their pane is not visible. Existing agent hooks keep precedence. (#861)
• Simplified Chinese user guide. The complete guide is now available in Simplified Chinese, with the same topics and navigation as the English guide. CLI commands and generated help remain in English. (#1058)

Bug fixes

• Codex input waits show Needs you. Runner now recognizes Codex's native approval and question waits instead of leaving the session marked Working, and clears the wait when Codex reports that it has resumed. (#1008)
• Remote sidebar views stay where you left them. Switching computers and returning now restores each remote computer's Show all / Show active only choice and collapsed sections, projects and Active groups, independently in each window. (#1047)
• Unsent inbox notices no longer stall later delivery. If an inbox notice's Return does not take, Runner keeps track of its own text and retries submission without typing a second notice over it. Prolonged delivery holds now produce a mission warning visible in runner mission show. (#1075)

Nightly channel

• A new nightly build for macOS, Windows and both Linux architectures is now triggered automatically after every merged pull request. The shared nightly prerelease and update channels stay the same.

Download and upgrade

• macOS, Apple Silicon: download Runner-0.18.3-arm64.dmg, or update through Sparkle. The app is signed and notarized.
• Windows x64, Windows 10 version 1809 or later: download Runner-Setup-0.18.3.20261029.0649-x64.exe. The installer, app, and CLI sidecars are Authenticode-signed by Open Source Developer Yicheng Wang. You can also update through Settings → Updates → Update, then choose Install and restart. Settings, chats, and missions are retained.
• Linux ARM64/x86_64 (beta): on Debian or Ubuntu, download Runner_0.18.3_linux-<arm64|x64>.deb and install it with sudo apt install ./Runner_0.18.3_linux-arm64.deb (or -x64). On other distributions, extract Runner_0.18.3_linux-<arm64|x64>.tar.gz and run its ./install.sh, which installs under ~/.local. Later updates come through Settings → Updates: tarball installations are replaced atomically, and deb installations ask for system authorization and install through APT. The opt-in user service is disabled on install, and uninstall retains user data. Each Linux package carries a matching minisign signature verified by the in-app updater.

Windows ARM64 and Intel Macs are not supported. Linux packages are built on Ubuntu 22.04 and need glibc 2.35 or later, Linux kernel 5.3 or later, and an EGL/Vulkan-capable graphics stack. Native acceptance on physical Linux hardware, on x86_64 and on distributions other than Ubuntu is still pending. Known issue: in some virtual machines, such as UTM with the Virtio-GPU Venus adapter, the window never appears; start Runner with software rendering instead: VK_LOADER_DRIVERS_DISABLE='*virtio*' LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 runner-app.

问题修复

• Codex 等待输入时显示 Needs you。 Runner 现在能识别 Codex 原生的审批和问题等待，不再一直显示 Working；Codex 报告继续运行后，等待状态会随之解除。(#1008)
• 远程侧栏记住上次视图。 切换电脑再返回时，现在会恢复每台远程电脑的 Show all / Show active only 选择，以及分区、项目和 Active 分组的折叠状态，各窗口独立记忆。(#1047)
• 未提交的收件箱通知不再卡住后续投递。 如果收件箱通知的 Return 未生效，Runner 会识别自己输入的文本并重试提交，不会再叠加输入第二条通知。持续较久的投递阻塞现在会产生 mission 警告，可通过 runner mission show 查看。(#1075)

Nightly 渠道

• 每次合并 pull request 后，现在会自动触发 macOS、Windows 和两种 Linux 架构的 nightly 构建。共享的 nightly 预发布页面和更新渠道保持不变。
