Always starts in the background on High Sierra #66
Comments
I have this same issue. Running Mac High Sierra. |
With the advent of Mac OS Mojave, the problem got even worse: now I cannot find the window at all when Meld is started from a terminal. The problem also persists when Meld is started from the dock: the application starts, but the File > New Comparison… option doesn't open any new window/dialog. |

I’m working on a new release this week/weekend. I have some nice progress
so far and last night I was able to do a run from upstream latest meld.
Please note that this project is not based on brew. There maybe
similarities to how some issues could be handled, but that is not
necessarily always the case.

New build here to fix Mojave. You still need to run the fix mentioned above once before running the new build. |
Closing. Fixed. |
@yousseb I’m still getting Meld opened in background. I always need to click on dock icon to show window. |
Yeah, it's still an issue for me too. |
Installed Meld-3.19.0 as a Homebrew cask. When launched from the command line like
meld foo bar
, application always starts in the background (as the "last" app when Cmd-Tab is pressed). Is there any way (or environment variable, or command line switch) to make it work like any other app: start in the foreground? The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
