Claude Workflow 0.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 14 Sep 07:57

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash defaults to enabled thinking with reasoning_effort: max, including routes with omitted settings. Effort aliases follow DeepSeek's API: xhigh means high, while ultra means max. Explicit thinking opt-outs remain supported.

Flash responses fail explicitly on interrupted streams, missing completion markers, malformed frames, and unsuccessful completion reasons. Tool-call batches are validated before any tool is forwarded. The gateway does not retry these failures or make a response-rewriting model call.

The README and DeepSeek guide explain setup, effort precedence, output budgets, session settings, and interrupted responses. Codex agent effort remains independent of DeepSeek and Claude's native effort controls.

Install or upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.4.1
claude-workflow setup

To select DeepSeek, add DEEPSEEK_API_KEY to the owner-only ~/.claude-workflow.env file, then run claude-workflow config --main deepseek. Remove a saved or exported ULTRATHINK_THINKING_LEVEL=OFF if you want thinking enabled. Shell exports override saved settings. Start a new session after changing providers; reconcile an existing shared daemon if one is in use.

Verification

  • Full Ultrathink and standalone test suites, packaging, and GitHub-tag installation.
  • 46 focused DeepSeek checks covering effort, limits, replay, HTTP errors, malformed streams, UTF-8/CRLF framing, and complete tool batches.
  • 22 installed-CLI contracts with Claude Code 2.1.270.
  • Live DeepSeek plain answer, read/edit, image recognition, and resumed thinking through Claude Code 2.1.270: six provider requests, all at max thinking.
  • Linux/macOS CI, Ubuntu under WSL 2, and latest-upstream canaries across all three repositories.

The live journey does not test full-context saturation or Codex delegation. This release is distributed through GitHub; no npm registry publication is required.

v0.4.0 — DeepSeek V4.1 Flash

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 14 Sep 07:27

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash is available as a main coordinator:

claude-workflow config --main deepseek
claude-workflow setup

Store DEEPSEEK_API_KEY in the owner-only ~/.claude-workflow.env file first.
The route uses deepseek-flash with max reasoning. Fable 5.1 and Astra/max
remain the package defaults, and explicit older Pro configurations are preserved.

This release preserves thinking through completed turns, tool calls, and session
resume. It supports images in user messages and Claude Read results, honors
automatic/disabled tool choices, and rejects forced choices that the live
thinking API does not accept. Protocol conversion is local, with no extra model
request to rewrite an answer.

The DeepSeek profile uses a conservative 1,000,000-token context ceiling and
393,216-token output ceiling. Claude's custom-model limit remains the smaller
main/agent window: 828,400 with default Astra agents, compacting at 784,800.

Live checks passed with Claude Code 2.1.261 and 2.1.270. The latest-version
journey verified streaming, resumed thinking, file read/edit, and image
recognition in six provider requests. The test uses synthetic temporary files
and does not exercise Codex delegation or full-window saturation.

Install or upgrade from GitHub:

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.4.0
claude-workflow setup

See DeepSeek setup and verification.
No npm registry publication is included in this release.

Release validation passed: Linux/macOS on Node 20/22/24, supported and latest
upstream CLI contracts, npm 12 GitHub-tag installs, and WSL 2 smoke tests in
Ultrathink and both standalone repositories. Shared runtime files and the two
standalone tags are identical.

Claude Workflow 0.3.1 — native Ultracode effort fix

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 10 Sep 08:37

Claude Workflow 0.3.1 fixes the effort override that prevented native Ultracode mode from taking effect.

Fix

Version 0.3.0 copied Codex agent effort into CLAUDE_CODE_EFFORT_LEVEL. Claude gives that variable priority over /effort, so selecting Ultracode produced the warning that max overrides the session.

Anthropic and Codex launches now clear that pin from the child environment and shadow stale settings-file values in the private launch settings. Persistent Claude settings remain untouched. Claude owns its native session effort; Codex agents keep their separately configured effort, such as Astra/max.

  • /effort ultracode can select native xhigh reasoning with dynamic workflows.
  • Native launch options such as claude-workflow -- --effort xhigh are accepted.
  • Kimi and Qwen retain their required provider-specific client effort.
  • Regression tests reproduce the original warning and verify the fix with installed Claude Code 2.1.261 and 2.1.267, without paid inference.

Upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.3.1
claude-workflow setup

Start a new Claude Workflow session, then run /effort ultracode. Enable dynamic workflows in /config if needed. The selected model and organization must allow xhigh. This release does not automatically enable Ultracode or override those requirements.

Shared-mode users should reconcile their gateway after upgrading. Unsetting the variable in the parent shell alone does not fix v0.3.0 because that launcher injects it again.

The supported baseline remains Claude Code 2.1.261 and Codex CLI 0.153.4. Installation is from GitHub; no npm registry publication is required.

Claude Workflow 0.3.0 — GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 05 Sep 09:44

Claude Workflow 0.3.0 adds GPT-6 Astra and Fable 5.1, updates the supported CLI baseline, and fixes tool isolation, native fallback routing, and shutdown handling.

Defaults and requirements

  • Main session: Anthropic Fable 5.1 (claude-fable-5-1).
  • Agents: GPT-6 Astra with max reasoning, displayed as codex-astra / “Codex Astra.”
  • Claude Code 2.1.261+ and Codex CLI 0.153.4+ are required.
  • Node 22+ is recommended for npm-based Claude installations. The gateway also supports Node 20 with native Claude.
  • Explicit model pins remain unchanged. Opus 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna remain selectable.

Reliability fixes

  • Private Codex catalog snapshots suppress native experimental tools that bypass feature flags, including Astra's async questions and clock. Claude owns user questions and project tools.
  • Inherited experimental Codex context management cannot re-enable a second set of conversation tools.
  • Closing the gateway settles active text, stream, and tool-continuation requests and removes private snapshots.
  • Native Fable fallback stays on Anthropic's documented Opus targets. Ordinary agents use Claude's documented subagent-force setting; native inherit/fork exceptions remain Claude-owned.
  • Anthropic passthrough preserves thinking prefixes, signatures, progress events, errors, and token-count response headers. Protocol conversion adds no inference call.
  • Updated the vulnerable transitive qs dependency to 6.16.0.

Context

Codex 0.153.4 advertises 872,000 raw tokens for Astra's long profile: 828,400 usable tokens, with compaction at 784,800. Claude Workflow follows that installed catalog, not the Astra API's 1,050,000-token headline window. Explicit overrides are clamped to the selected model's advertised maximum.

Upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.3.0
codex update
claude update
claude-workflow config --main fable --agents astra --effort max --context long
claude-workflow setup
claude-workflow doctor

Use your package manager for Codex if codex update is unavailable. Start a new terminal and Claude Workflow session. Shared-mode users can run claude-workflow-gateway reconcile after the upgrade. Custom passthrough lists must preserve the native fallback targets; conflicting routes fail explicitly.

This release is installed from GitHub; npm registry publication is not required. See the README and docs/UPSTREAM_COMPATIBILITY.md for setup, source references, and verification boundaries.

Claude Workflow 0.2.4

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 29 Aug 18:29

Claude Workflow 0.2.4 hardens shared-gateway lifecycle checks and expands
release validation across supported clients, current upstream releases, public
GitHub installs, and WSL 2.

Changes

  • Runtime revision checks include Node.js process-start, certificate, TLS,
    proxy, referenced-file, symlink-target, and bounded certificate-directory
state. Behavior-changing same-path rotations recycle an owned daemon.
  • Detached gateways report the managed state directory consistently through
both the kernel working directory and PWD.
  • Concurrent managed-state claims revalidate ownership before publishing state.
  • Transient Codex catalog failures use a bounded negative-cache interval;
successful catalogs remain keyed by executable identity and effective Codex
    home.
  • Codex CLI 0.151.0 typed rate-limit and usage-limit turn errors become
Anthropic-shaped 429 responses without replaying a started turn.
  • Required CI exercises Claude Code 2.1.251 with Codex CLI 0.150.1. Separate
    current-upstream, public-tag install, and native-filesystem WSL 2 gates detect
    compatibility and packaging drift.
  • The current-upstream installer pins one resolved release and retries
fresh-cache Codex installation for bounded npm platform-package propagation
delays, without falling back to an older release.

Minimum supported versions remain Claude Code 2.1.250 and Codex CLI 0.150.1.

Install or upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.2.4
claude-workflow setup

Claude Workflow intentionally starts Claude Code with permission prompts
bypassed by default. Use it only in trusted repositories, or pass --no-yolo.

Claude Workflow 0.2.3

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 28 Aug 19:24

Important

Superseded by Claude Workflow v0.2.4. Install v0.2.4 unless you are reproducing older behavior.

Claude Workflow 0.2.3 makes optional shared-gateway upgrades deterministic across shells and working directories.

What changed

  • Runtime revisions now follow the gateway's configuration precedence and track installed sources, the selected Node.js and Codex executables, and the effective Codex home instead of the literal PATH.
  • Equivalent shell environments and comment-only configuration edits keep a healthy daemon running. Meaningful changes to executables, configuration, credentials, providers, or gateway policy still mark it stale.
  • Shared Codex catalog probes and app-server processes use the managed state directory as their deterministic working directory.
  • setup --shared fails before startup when a cwd-relative PATH would select a different Codex executable. Set an absolute ULTRATHINK_GATEWAY_CODEX_COMMAND for a stable repo-local wrapper.
  • The README and setup guidance have been rewritten for a standalone audience, including Linux/WSL notes and a bounded coverage procedure for very large files and diffs.
  • Lifecycle-free GitHub installation introduced in v0.2.2 remains intact.

Install or upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.2.4
claude-workflow setup

Setup reconciles an already-running owned shared gateway and leaves a stopped gateway stopped. Pass --shared to start it explicitly.

Shared-mode users on v0.2.2 should upgrade. The normal per-session launcher is unaffected by the false-stale condition. npm registry publication is not required.

Claude Workflow 0.2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 28 Aug 18:16

Important

Superseded by Claude Workflow v0.2.4. Install v0.2.4 unless you are reproducing older behavior.

Claude Workflow 0.2.2 fixes GitHub-tag installation and makes upgrades explicit and predictable.

What changed

  • GitHub installs no longer run install-time lifecycle hooks or npm's temporary Git-package preparation path. Global command links remain attached to the final installed package after npm removes its cache.
  • claude-workflow setup performs bounded upgrade maintenance from the final installation. It removes historical shell routing and refreshes an already-running owned gateway; a stopped gateway stays stopped unless --shared is supplied.
  • setup --json and doctor remain read-only, and package installation does not modify shell or daemon state.
  • CI now covers Node.js 20, 22, and 24 on Linux and macOS, with an explicit npm 12 Git-install regression job. The package regression suite also passes under npm 10 and 11.

Install or upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.2.4
claude-workflow setup

npm 12 blocks Git dependencies by default; --allow-git=root grants access only to the requested root package. npm registry publication is not required.

Users of v0.2.1 should upgrade because that release can leave global command links pointing at npm's deleted temporary checkout.

Claude Workflow 0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 28 Aug 17:32

Important

Superseded by Claude Workflow v0.2.4. Install v0.2.4 unless you are reproducing older behavior.

Claude Workflow 0.2.1 hardened gateway request boundaries without adding a
rolling quota to valid model traffic.

Fixed

  • Replaced quadratic bracket-qualifier matching with a linear parser.
  • Replaced truncated SHA-1 routing keys with complete SHA-256 digests.
  • Added constant-time byte comparison for equal-length gateway credentials.
  • Rate-limited missing or incorrect /v1 credentials and incorrect
credentials supplied to /healthz, including alternate route casing and
    trailing slashes.
  • Added a configurable process-wide concurrency cap before 32 MiB JSON body
parsing, held through complete JSON and streaming responses.
  • Anchored daemon integration-test commands and working directories to the test
module instead of the caller's current directory.

Upgrade

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.2.4
claude-workflow setup

See the changelog
for the complete release history through v0.2.1.

Claude Workflow 0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@yshaaban yshaaban released this 28 Aug 16:54

Important

Superseded by Claude Workflow v0.2.4. Install v0.2.4 unless you are reproducing older behavior.

Claude Workflow 0.2.0 is the first versioned GitHub release.

Highlights

  • Opus 5 coordinates the default session while Codex Terra runs delegated agents with max reasoning and its truthful long-context profile.
  • Direct Codex main sessions return plain responses after one upstream inference; Anthropic protocol conversion is local and does not call another model.
  • Kimi K3 and Alibaba Qwen 3.8 Max are first-class main routes with provider-specific context, reasoning, credential, and tool-continuation handling.
  • Claude Code 2.1.250 and Codex app-server 0.150.1 compatibility covers model metadata, interruption, streaming, dynamic tools, compaction, and context recovery.
  • Gap-safe contiguous Read paging and an explicit coverage procedure support reviews of 12,000-line files and large diffs without treating omitted content as reviewed.
  • Setup, credential isolation, daemon upgrades, and shell migration are hardened for macOS, Linux, and WSL 2.

Install the supported release:

npm install --global --allow-git=root \
  git+https://github.com/yshaaban/claude-workflow.git#v0.2.4
claude-workflow setup

Claude Workflow intentionally skips Claude Code permission prompts by default. Use it only in trusted repositories, or run with --no-yolo.

See the full changelog and getting-started guide.
