Hm. Doesn't the spec already use the terminology "payment address" for this reason? |
Yes, but there are still some inappropriate uses of "public key". For example, in section 4.2 "Notes", it says: 'apk is a 32-byte authorization public key of the recipient.' |

Addresses (and their components) are not inherently public. Limiting their distribution is a valid security decision, and important for anonymity in some use cases. The spec should use terminology that reflects this.
