Bug fixes since v0.1.0-alpha

  • Daemon login (Entropy/CSEC): Login now uses a known-credential picker (Up/Down/Enter) instead of exiting to the terminal. No more rogue "username:/password:" announcements.
  • Terminal review buffer: Multi-line output (help, OS.write) now splits into individual navigable lines. clear command clears the buffer. ls output is tracked in the buffer. Line/word position announcements removed for cleaner reading.
  • Ctrl+Enter spell: Spells out the current terminal line or word character by character (useful for IPs, filenames).
  • Shell overload: "Overloaded on" now correctly announces the target IP.
  • Login screen: "USERNAME :" prompt re-announces after validation errors (e.g. username already exists).
  • Tutorial: Mouse-only instructions ("pressing the Scan Network button", "clicking the green circle") replaced with accessible equivalents inline.
  • Mail navigation: Position announcement moved to end of line instead of start.
  • DLL sandbox fix: HacknetPathfinder.exe.config included in release to prevent Windows from blocking downloaded DLLs.

Installation improvements

  • Install script: scripts/Install-HacknetAccess.ps1 handles everything — Pathfinder download, patching, exe rename for Steam compatibility, and mod file copy. Fully accessible via PowerShell.
  • Steam launch: The install script renames executables so Steam launches the modded version directly. No need to find and run a separate exe.
  • README: Complete installation guide with CLI patching instructions, Steam launch setup, and full keyboard shortcut documentation.

Files included

  • HacknetAccess.dll — copy to BepInEx\plugins\
  • Tolk.dll — copy to game directory
  • nvdaControllerClient32.dll — copy to game directory
  • HacknetPathfinder.exe.config — copy to game directory (rename to match your exe)
  • scripts\Install-HacknetAccess.ps1 — automated installer (recommended)
