What's New

Features

  • Agent orchestration now works from every provider chat (Claude, Codex, OpenCode, Hermes, Cursor and custom ACP)
  • Agent-started chats get their own nested workspace, and delegated workspaces fold into their parent's Activity card in the sidebar
  • Calmer live turns: a ticking "Working for" header and one quiet status line
  • Sidebar hides idle projects behind "N more projects" and gathers settled work into one shelf
  • Inter is the default interface font; monospace is reserved for code-like data
  • Shared motion vocabulary: eased turn folds, composer strip, sidebar project folds, row enter/exit, utility pages and right-panel content
  • Base controls get press feedback, bevel and shared surface metrics
  • Accessible keyboard navigation in the file tree

Fixes

  • Orchestration: native caller rules apply to every provider chat; OpenCode/Hermes modes map to their real reach; one chat credential per session on shared runtimes; OpenCode agent switches are fenced; Stop or a permission change ends in-flight gateway tool calls
  • OpenCode: refuse Codemux calls that don't name the chat's session, explain missing tools on OpenCode 1, reconcile a lost agent-switch answer
  • Hermes: refresh profile catalogs when the profile or install changes, keep the effective model in cached catalogs, never block on a busy profile; full-access chats can launch Hermes workspaces
  • Workspaces: shared checkouts stay claimed until their chats stop, worktree cleanup is fenced, remote-only workspaces are ignored when deleting a local checkout, Compose ports stay with the owning workspace
  • Terminals and remote: blocked PTY input no longer stalls the daemon or other terminals; SSH recovers from a stalled tunnel start and stops transfers on timeout; RPC requests to unresponsive children are bounded
  • Files: no more git check-ignore deadlocks on large folders; stale directory replies are ignored; file-tree focus stays visible after scrolling and cancelled pointer gestures
  • Chat: checkpoint history survives hydration; turn header stays under the prompt when a turn settles; + menu rows no longer grow on hover
  • Sidebar: theme highlight tints the open workspace, no drag grip on hover, pending creates show in projects with only settled work, asking children stay visible
  • Settings: each skill shows once in Extensions with Plugins first, skills stay reachable after filtering, accent tint no longer floods the page, copy-feedback timers are cleaned up
  • Skills sync settles skipped manual syncs and subscribes before reading initial status
  • Cursor no longer opens sign-in during model discovery
  • Environments coalesce overlapping catalog refreshes
  • Editor ignores prototype keys in language lookup

Performance

  • Resource metrics scans moved off the main thread
  • Fewer redundant renders: workspace sync, idle polling, per-second workflow cards, PR overview plans, tool image traversal, editor dirty-state persistence
  • Binary attachments stop reading after sniffing; autocomplete paths stay paired through matching
  • Scrollback metadata lookups are batched during shutdown

Other

  • Release builds compile codemux-remote once and bundle RPMs faster
  • CI skips jobs a change cannot affect and cuts redundant Windows rebuilds
  • Removed unused dependencies and test helpers; more live/e2e coverage for orchestration and workspace lifecycles

Install

AppImage (any Linux distro)

chmod +x codemux_0.26.0_amd64.AppImage
./codemux_0.26.0_amd64.AppImage

Arch Linux (AUR)

yay -S codemux-bin

Debian/Ubuntu

sudo dpkg -i codemux_0.26.0_amd64.deb

Windows

Download codemux_0.26.0_x64-setup.exe from the release assets and run the installer.

Note: The installer is not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen may show a warning — click "More info" → "Run anyway" to proceed. This will be resolved in a future release.

Existing users: Both Linux (AppImage) and Windows users will be prompted to update automatically via the Tauri auto-updater. No manual download required — the updater handles it on next app launch.
