@0to101 0to101 released this 06 Nov 10:35

TVPort 1.2.3 — Build 44

  • Added separate Swap A/B and Swap X/Y controls. Existing combined swaps stay enabled, and new games inherit your most recent choices.
  • Reduced automatic save checks to every 30 minutes. Backups are still created only when saves change, keeping the newest 10 automatic copies per game and player/save slot.
  • Kept Updates & DLC attachments editable during automatic save checks and fixed the Add Files dialog.
  • Kept separate generated game profiles when input files change, fixing the cached base-game profile error when adding an update. Previous profiles are preserved for switching back.
  • Made Last Run show the complete available run log, added text-file export for build and run logs, and made the build log follow new output. Save Log now sits beside the status and Show/Hide Log controls.
  • Kept the prod.keys picker visible in game settings.
  • Made Crop to fill the default for new App Icons and when choosing replacement artwork. Top Shelf uses the App Icon image unless a separate cover is selected, with a clearer Use App Icon Image action.
  • Added an in-app warning that Updates & DLC support is under development and may cause games to crash.

Known issue: Snufkin reached gameplay with the newer engine without the game update, but the updated game still crashes during loading. The latest updated-game log repeats the same null-pointer fault as earlier tests. The cause remains under investigation; DLC has not been isolated as the cause. This is not a confirmed crash fix.

Validation for build 44: all 107 TVPort tests and the native controller-mapping tests passed. The Add Files dialog was checked with a test file. The Release app and packaged signature were verified. User testing confirmed Snufkin gameplay without the update and reproduced the updated-game crash; no general DLC compatibility claim is made. The newer engine is retained, with independent controller swaps; no experimental memory rollback is included.

Download and install

Download TVPort-1.2.3-build44.zip, unzip it, and move TVPort 1.2.3.app to Applications. Quit an older TVPort instance after any active build finishes, then reopen the app. About TVPort should show build 44.

This is the ready-to-run Mac app with the newer embedded engine, not a demo or experimental engine rollback. It is signed ad hoc and is not notarized; if macOS blocks its first launch, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Xcode and the existing build dependencies are still required.

Your existing library and save-backup locations are retained. Independent controller mappings take effect in the game after Build & Install. Updates & DLC support is under development and may cause games to crash.

The original TVPort 1.2.3 build 32, TVPort 1.2 and TVPort 1.1 downloads remain available in the release history.

@0to101 0to101 released this 06 Nov 07:37

TVPort 1.2.3

  • Added a build queue: prepare several games, see Building and numbered Queued badges, and remove waiting games. Stop or a failed build pauses the queue until you resume it.
  • Added each built game’s signing expiry, with a live countdown and local date and time.
  • Kept the Mac awake during setup, conversion, building and installation. The display can still turn off, and normal sleep resumes when the work finishes or stops.
  • Added a confirmation after a save is successfully restored and verified on Apple TV, with an in-app fallback when notifications are unavailable.
  • Automatically back up saves for all supported games installed on the selected Apple TV, including games built on another Mac.
  • Save automatic backups only when their contents change, keeping the newest 10 per game and player/save slot. Manual backups, local imports, safety backups and older unlabelled copies are preserved.
  • Kept saved backups available to browse during automatic backup, with clearer progress and retry messages. Builds can wait in the queue until backup finishes.
  • Added drag-to-position for App Icon and Top Shelf artwork, cached previews for faster switching, and Crop to fill as the default for new Top Shelf covers.
  • Fixed artwork disappearing after Stop and build results or installation messages appearing on the wrong game.

The embedded game engine is unchanged from TVPort 1.2. Existing artwork framing choices are retained. The build queue lasts for the current app session; keep TVPort open until it finishes.

Validation: all 103 TVPort tests passed, the Release app built successfully, and its packaged signature and version were verified. The macOS sleep assertion was checked for creation and release. Restore notification permission and fallback paths were tested with a simulated notification client. No new end-to-end game or save-transfer test on Apple TV was performed for this release.

Download and install

Download TVPort-1.2.3.zip, unzip it, and move TVPort 1.2.3.app to Applications. This is the real app, not the screenshot demo. It is signed ad hoc and is not notarized; if macOS blocks the first launch, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Xcode and the existing build dependencies are still required.

TVPort 1.2 and 1.1 remain available in the release history. This update uses the same library and save-backup locations; there is no need to rebuild a game solely to use these Mac-app improvements.

TVPort 1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@0to101 0to101 released this 05 Nov 20:39

TVPort 1.2 (build 26) updates the embedded engine and adds game attachments, separate Top Shelf covers, a new app icon and Mac interface improvements. It retains the save-management, artwork and controller features from 1.1.

Download

Download TVPort-1.2.zip, unzip it, and open TVPort.app on an Apple-silicon Mac. This is the ready-to-run Mac app with its engine included; you do not need to build TVPort from source. Xcode, its Apple TV/iOS SDKs and Metal toolchain, the build tools, and an Apple TV paired through Xcode are still required to build and install games.

The app is signed ad hoc and is not notarized, matching the 1.1 distribution. macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway on first launch. A SHA-256 checksum is provided alongside the download.

TVPort 1.1 and its app download remain available.

What’s new in TVPort 1.2

  • Updated the embedded nxnative engine and shader tools while retaining TVPort’s Apple TV adaptations.
  • Fixed Unity 6000.3 shader parsing and the Apple TV startup check that incorrectly rejected GPUs using decoded BC textures.
  • Added drag-and-drop for game folders and NSP, XCI, NSZ and XCZ files.
  • Added an Updates & DLC section: attach files from other folders or drives, check that they belong to the game, and apply them on the next Build & Install.
  • Added a separate Top Shelf cover with PNG/JPEG import, a wide preview, and independent zoom and position controls.
  • Made the full build log selectable and readable in dark mode. The frame-rate counter now defaults to off for new games.
  • Added a new app icon and refined labels, alignment and toolbar spacing.
  • Fixed Last Run Stats appearing out of view. It now opens in a dedicated panel with loading status, clear errors, Refresh and a selectable run log.

Existing features and instructions remain below.

Existing features

Manage Saves retains offline browsing, local save imports, backup and restore by player/save slot, Back Up All Saves, Finder access and optional iCloud Drive backup storage. Automatic artwork lookup, icon cropping, A/B and X/Y swapping, and configurable build folders are also retained. See the project page for the full feature list and new screenshots.

Updating and compatibility

  • Rebuild and install a game to apply engine, artwork or DLC changes; existing installed game apps retain their previous engine until rebuilt. The updated shader tools can require shaders to be rebuilt.
  • Game compatibility varies. Build checks do not guarantee that every game will run. The new DLC workflow has passed package and build-wiring tests, but has not yet been play-tested on Apple TV.
  • This release does not announce Switch 2 or web-view support on Apple TV.

Validation

The Mac app builds successfully and its signature and ZIP integrity were checked. All 92 TVPort tests passed. The 320 package checks passed across the initial run and a rerun of the 65 incremental checks with their required dependency installed. Python lint adds no findings. Generated standard and wide Top Shelf images have matching central artwork at both scales, and choosing a custom cover leaves the app icon unchanged. The project owner confirmed the corrected Top Shelf cover and Last Run Stats on the Apple TV.

Embedded nxnative base: 777a5f6c, with TVPort adaptations. Engine ID: 58f51e57a811; shader chain: 0ad559cdbb28.

TVPort 1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@0to101 0to101 released this 05 Nov 09:26

TVPort 1.1 (build 14) adds save management, artwork controls and a clearer Mac interface to the original TVPort project.

Download

Download TVPort-1.1.zip, unzip it, and open TVPort.app on an Apple-silicon Mac. The app includes its engine and sets up its own Python environment on first launch. Xcode with the Apple TV/iOS SDKs and Metal toolchain, the build tools, and an Apple TV paired through Xcode are still required.

The app is signed ad hoc and is not notarized. macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway on first launch. This release does not include a Developer ID signature.

Added

  • A Manage Saves window listing supported games installed on the selected Apple TV, including games outside the Mac library.
  • Per-game backup, Back Up All Saves, dated backup history and restore, and import of compatible save folders from Ryujinx, other emulators or native Mac games.
  • Import Save Copy adds a separate copy without changing the Apple TV, including while offline. Entries distinguish Local import, Apple TV backup, and Safety backup.
  • Restore to Apple TV lets you choose an existing player/save slot, backs up its current save first, verifies the transfer, and attempts rollback if it fails. Other player slots remain unchanged; internal game slots are not merged.
  • Browse saved copies and open them in Finder while the Apple TV is offline.
  • Finder access to ordinary save folders and optional iCloud Drive storage for new backups. This stores backups in iCloud Drive; it does not provide direct Apple TV cloud-save syncing.
  • Automatic artwork lookup adapted from NX2Apple, custom artwork, and icon scale/crop controls. Library and save-manager lists show game artwork.
  • A per-game Swap A/B and X/Y controller option.
  • File → Settings for a default build folder, with per-game choices for the default location or next to the original files. Changing location copies an existing build and keeps its original.
  • File → Manage Saves for quick access to backups and imports.

Improved and fixed

  • Fixed library selection handling when removing the last game.
  • Fixed crop-to-fill with automatically downloaded artwork and improved thumbnail rendering.
  • Kept the sidebar visible at a fixed width and refined window controls, visible toolbar buttons, margins, lighter selection backgrounds, headings and game version labels.
  • Consistent Built / Ready to build status, larger sidebar status text, and a labelled game ID.
  • A new red TV-and-controller app icon with native dark and clear appearances. The README shows the red icon and updated screenshots using dummy artwork and fictional games.
  • Matching native window styling, fixed 1000-point widths and a 670-point starting content height, with adjustable height. Refined save-list alignment, top spacing and import explanation text.
  • The original About text is included in both development and packaged builds, alongside the new app icon.
  • Moved the setup indicator beside Manage Saves, with clear ready/missing states.
  • Renamed Last Run to Last Run Stats, removed the idle Ready label, and show Show Log only when a log exists.
  • Kept the frame-rate selector visible but disabled when unsupported, with clearer explanations of FPS selection and the FPS counter.
  • Hardened automatic save recovery during installation: existing working or persistent saves prevent recovery, and uncertain reads skip recovery instead of risking replacement.

Validation and limits

  • 84 TVPort tests and 8 build-location script tests passed, plus the controller-mapping test.
  • Release build, archive integrity and code-signature verification passed. The red app icon was confirmed working in Finder/Dock before this update.
  • The standalone app launched and completed first-run setup with a separate empty test library on Xcode 27.2.
  • Live import/restore and expired-signature reinstallation were not exercised for this release; save-transfer tests use temporary fixtures and simulated device responses.

No game files, game keys, personal saves or downloaded covers are included in the release archive. Artwork rights remain with their respective owners.

Thanks to the original TVPort project, nxnative, and NX2Apple. Existing licenses and attribution are preserved.
