@github-actions github-actions released this 31 Oct 14:06

What's new in 2.5.0

  • Camera in Multi-device mode. Use another computer's camera on this one, or share yours with all your devices with one switch. One camera runs at a time, and the page shows who is watching. Works on Windows, Mac and Linux.
  • DuoDesk Camera. The virtual camera now has the DuoDesk name; an existing one is renamed on the next start.
  • DuoDesk names everywhere: virtual display, gamepad, sound device, Start menu folder, Android notifications and photos. ssh duodesk opens the other computer's terminal (ssh twindesk still works).
  • Multi-device is no longer a beta.
  • Tip and Feedback pages, the new macOS installer window and the one-click Download button from the betas.

First launch

The apps aren't code-signed yet, so your system asks once:

  • macOS: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DuoDesk.app. For one mouse and keyboard, allow DuoDesk in Privacy & Security › Accessibility and Input Monitoring.
  • Windows: SmartScreen › More info › Run anyway. Quit DuoDesk (tray › Quit) before installing an update.
  • Android: allow installing from your browser or file manager.

The first DuoDesk release: all your computers and your phone, working as one desk.

What's new

  • New name, new look. DuoDesk is a redesign of TwinDesk in the Aurora style: a calm dark glass interface with a living background, a new sidebar and top bar, and a Home dashboard with a card for every device.
  • Command bar (Ctrl+K): type what you want ("turn on clipboard", "open mouse", "pair a phone") and DuoDesk does it.
  • Every page has its own character, with live status and a quiet animated illustration for each feature, drawn for Windows, Mac, Linux and phones.
  • Android app restyled in the same design.
