@11111353535 11111353535 released this 17 Oct 11:01

First release.

Reports what a command name actually resolves to, which PATH entry won, what it shadowed, what shape PATH itself is in, and whether the copies behind one name agree on a version.

It does not shell out to which: that inherits the very rules you are trying to inspect, and Windows has no which. The resolution rules are reimplemented as pure functions, so they can be tested against a fixture filesystem.

The shadowed copies are first-class output. "What runs" is one line; "what else answers to this name" is the diagnosis.

Every failure it names is silent: the command runs, it is just not the one you meant.

  • 5 tools: which_resolve, which_path, which_env, which_sweep, which_probe
  • Read-only by contract - no tool edits PATH
  • 88 unit tests, plus 11 checks against the real machine
