Fix: short replies being sent without translation
The previous version skipped translation when a draft had fewer than 8 characters or 5 letters. This meant short replies such as מצוין, תודה, and מעולה could be sent in Hebrew even while translation was enabled.
Version 5.1.3 removes those minimum-length checks. Short non-ASCII replies, including single-letter replies, can now be translated through both Enter and the send arrow. Drafts without letters still pass through, and duplicate-submission prevention remains active during translation.
Update
- Download token-saver-v5.1.3.zip and extract it over the files in your existing extension folder.
- Open
chrome://extensionsoredge://extensionsand click Reload on the Token Saver card. - Refresh every open Claude/ChatGPT tab so that it loads the updated content script.
- Confirm version 5.1.3 in the extension popup, check that the translation bubble is enabled, and verify your target language.
Validation
- Reproduced the reported failure before the fix: the test chat received
מצויןinstead of its translation. - All 34 extension browser tests passed after the fix, with the actual extension loaded and mocked chat pages/translation responses.
- Added coverage for rapid consecutive short replies in a Claude-style contenteditable editor, through both Enter and the arrow, as well as short replies in other scripts, nonlinguistic input, and retrying a short draft after editing during a pending translation.
- Manifest resources, JavaScript syntax, and release archive contents were checked. SHA256SUMS.txt is included.
The browser suite uses mocked translations and does not submit messages to a live Claude account. A direct live Google translation request was blocked by Google's automated-query protection on the test network, so live translation was not verified in this environment.
