What's new
- Pauses no longer split sentences. Vosk finalizes text on short pauses, so Scribe used to treat every pause as the end of a sentence: it added a period and capitalized the next chunk. Now the model-made terminal period is dropped and a continuation stays lowercase. Real sentence ends are
?,!,..., an explicit Enter, or a voice command. - Better Russian punctuation. The Russian model is now RUPunct_big int8 (about 178 MB instead of 29 MB): fewer wrong commas and sentence marks, while keeping the same offline CPU inference. It downloads automatically on first run; the model is not bundled inside the executable.
- Lowercase after
,:;—in Russian and Ukrainian, while proper nouns keep their capitals. - Version 1.3.1. Punctuation and capitalization remain enabled by default.
Upgrading
- Close Scribe completely (tray -> Exit).
- Replace
Scribe.exewith the new one and keep yourmodelsfolder. - Start the program.
Existing installs keep the punctuation model they already have. To switch to the new larger Russian model, delete models\punct\ru once and restart: Scribe will download RUPunct_big (about 178 MB). Without internet it still works with the basic capitalization rules.
