What's new / Features 🚀

New Commands

Undo Command 🔙

Undo.and.Redo.mp4

• Users can now undo commands, to revert to a state before a command
• For example: Running clear then undo restores the contacts list to before clear was ran
• undo can be used after an undo, as long as there are commands ran previously to undo

Redo Command ⏩

• Users can also redo, to redo a command that was undone accidentally
• For example: Running clear, then undo, then redo will have the contact list cleared
• redo can also be used after a redo, as long as there are undone commands to redo.

Import Command 💾

• Contacts can now be imported from a separate data file
• This can be done using import -f <File Location>
• If a contact is duplicated (exists in current session and in import file), they are ignored

Sort Command 📊

• Contacts can now be sorted for more organized listing of contacts
• Sorting by name, phone and email in ascending and descending order is currently supported
• Contacts can be sorted through: sort (name | phone | email) (asc | desc)

• Lists the added aliases available for use

delete_alias 🗑️

• Deletes an alias
• Can be invoked through: delete_alias <ALIAS_TO_DELETE>
• For example: After running alias find f to creates an alias for find, delete_alias f removes the specified alias

• Persistence for aliases has been added
• Aliases are stored at data/aliases.json

Bulk Delete 🗑️

• Tag-based deletion now deletes a contact's tags if they have multiple tags
• For example: if Alice has 3 tags: others friend, module CS2103 and faculty SOC, doing bulk delete of module CS2103 does not delete Alice, it simply removes the module CS2103 tag from her

Find Command 🔍

Find_partial.mp4

• Now supports partial matching for phone numbers, without having to be a valid phone number
• For example: 99 is not a valid phone number, but can now be used with find

Tagging 🏷️

• Now only supports alphanumeric characters and apostrophes (hyphens are no longer allowed).

Bug Fixes

• Fixed app crashing if addressbook.json has address, phone email or name that exceeds the character limit
• Fixed sort preventing undo from undoing commands before it
• Fixed edit corrupting the session if a duplicate contact is created

• Switch between different Ui themes for coNnectUS
• Currently supported themes: light/dark
• Switch between themes using: theme dark | light

Pin/Unpin Command 📌

• Pinning a contact displays them above other unpinned contacts
• More important/frequently used contacts can be displayed at the top
• Pin contacts using: pin INDEX

Alias Command 🅰️

• Aliases can now be specified for existing commands
• The alias can then be used to invoke the same command
• Alias is currently session-based only, does not write to storage yet
• E.g.: After running alias find f, f -n Bob is equivalent to find -n Bob

Export Command 💾

• Contacts can now be exported to a file, the name of which is determined by the user
• Users can opt to export all contacts, or just a selection of the contacts (similar to find)
• Export contacts using: export -f FILENAME [-n NAME] [-p PHONE_NUMBER] [-e EMAIL_ADDRESS] [-a ADDRESS] [-t TAG_CATEGORY TAG_NAME]

• Multiple contacts can now be deleted at once
• Currently supports: deleting all contacts with the same tag
• Bulk delete contacts using: delete -t TAG_CATEGORY TAG_NAME

Ui Changes

• Added dark/light theme
• Added button to toggle between light/dark theme
• Pinned contacts now have a pin icon displayed on their PersonCard

• Tags are assigned a different colour based on their category (#75)

Find Command 🔍

• Now supports finding contacts using different properties (tags, email address, phone number) (#64, #88)
• Find now uses looser matching, where partial matching of names and properties is allowed (#64)
• If multiple properties are specified, an AND operation is used to combine the criterions.
