FFmpeg Forge v1.0.0 — Convert anything into everything 🔥

The first public release of FFmpeg Forge, a dark-themed Windows front-end for FFmpeg. It converts video, audio and images to every format your FFmpeg build supports, and it gives you every FFmpeg filter through a visual editor.

✨ Highlights

  • 🎞️ Every output format of your FFmpeg build. You get tuned presets plus every muxer and still-image type, read live from ffmpeg.exe.
  • 🧩 Every encoder. H.264, H.265, AV1, VP9, all Apple ProRes profiles (422 Proxy, LT, 422, HQ, 4444, 4444 XQ with alpha), all Avid DNxHR profiles, FFV1, and GPU encoding (NVIDIA NVENC, Intel QuickSync, AMD AMF).
  • 📐 Unlimited custom resolution. Use any width × height, presets from 8K to vertical 9:16, and Stretch, Fit (black bars) or Fill (crop) to handle aspect ratios.
  • 🎛️ Every FFmpeg filter (500+). Search the library, edit parameters with auto-generated controls, use timeline ranges, and pick from 45+ one-click presets. An advanced -filter_complex box with extra inputs handles watermarks, mixing and stacking.
  • 🔁 Cross-media conversions:
    • video → image sequence;
    • image → video;
    • audio → waveform video or picture.
  • ⚡ Batch processing. Drag & drop files or folders, with progress per file and overall, and cancel at any time.
  • 🛡️ Safe by default. Originals are never overwritten, and formats with strict rules (DV, MXF D-10, GXF, AMV, GSM…) are fixed automatically.
  • 🔍 Transparent. Show command prints and copies the exact FFmpeg command line.

📦 Installation

  1. Get FFmpeg for Windows. A full build (gyan.dev or BtbN) is recommended. Put ffmpeg.exe and ffprobe.exe in C:\FFmpeg\bin\.
  2. Download FFmpegForge.rar below and extract it into C:\FFmpeg\.
  3. Run FFmpegForge.exe.

FFmpeg Forge also finds FFmpeg next to the .exe, in your PATH, or wherever you point it with “FFmpeg location…”.

⚠️ The executable is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning. Click More info → Run anyway.

📋 Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (.NET Framework 4.x, built in)
  • FFmpeg 5.0 or newer (FFmpeg is not bundled; download it separately)
