Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

A security release for the v0.27 line. It takes the fixes for three groups of
dependency advisories RustSec published this week, wasmtime 48.0.8 among them,
and moves the Sass compiler to accent-sass 0.18.0.

Cut from the release/0.27.x maintenance branch rather than from master,
so anyone whose licence ceiling is 0.27 can take it.

Security

  • wasmtime 48.0.8. Four advisories against wasmtime 48.0.7, which runs
Accent's plugins: a WASI UDP send could reach an address allowed only for
receiving (RUSTSEC-2026-0420), typed functions with i31 or nullref
arguments could panic (RUSTSEC-2026-0422), host-created struct types could
be confused across engines (RUSTSEC-2026-0423), and passing a borrowed
resource between components skipped a memory check (RUSTSEC-2026-0424).
Plugins import no WASI sockets, so the UDP issue can't arise. 48.0.8 fixes
all four and stays on wasmtime's long-term-support line.
  • pulldown-cmark 0.13.5. RUSTSEC-2026-0414: with wikilinks on, a few
kilobytes of [[a|]] links make the Markdown parser's output grow
exponentially and exhaust memory. Accent's own Markdown parser, which turns
wikilinks on, already carried the fix. The Markdoc engine used an affected
release but never turns wikilinks on. Both now run fixed code.
  • zstd-sys 2.1.2. Four advisories against the zstd crates, which reach
Accent only through wasmtime's plugin compilation cache. RUSTSEC-2026-0410
concerns a WebAssembly build of zstd-sys that Accent never makes, and
    2.1.2 fixes it. The other three (RUSTSEC-2026-0391, -0398 and -0403) need a
reused compression context, the seekable feature or legacy frame support,
and the cache uses none of them. They clear when a wasmtime 48 release moves
    to zstd 0.14.

Changed

  • Sass compiles with accent-sass 0.18.0, which follows dart-sass 1.107.0.
Escapes now print the way dart-sass prints them: text at statement level
keeps its escapes as written, an escape in an expression that names no valid
character (U+0000, a surrogate, or past U+10FFFF) becomes U+FFFD, keywords
match through escapes, so !\69 mportant now works, and a unit that reads
like an exponent is written with an escaped e. A theme whose Sass uses
escaped identifiers can compile to different CSS. The bundled themes compile
    byte for byte as before.
  • accent-proust 0.12.3, the Markdoc engine. It fixes how the engine's
formatter reprints a blockquote inside a list item. Accent's output doesn't
    change.
