Craftopia Archipelago 1.18.2 — Regional Alpha

Ready-to-use Windows build for Craftopia Seamless World, with Archipelago 0.6.8 support. Runs can end in Geezah, Millewind, either Yarden region, Owatatsu or Brigandine Valley. This remains an experimental alpha.

Download and install

  • Players: download Craftopia-Archipelago-1.18.2-Windows.zip, extract it, close Craftopia and run Install Bundled Build.cmd. This installs the included mod and bridge even if an older Workshop copy exists. No Python or compiler setup is required.
  • Hosts: install the attached craftopia.apworld into AP 0.6.8's custom_worlds folder and restart the generator. Use the attached Craftopia.yaml, edit the slot name and choose an ending region. It defaults to Brigandine; geezah is the short-run option. Keep game: Craftopia and Craftopia: capitalization.
  • In game, press F8 → Connection, enter the room details and enroll a fresh character/world. Returning players reconnect to their existing slot and character without enrolling again.

Existing saves and AP records should be backed up. Do not erase delivery records during an upgrade. Steam Workshop distribution is retired. Use Install Bundled Build.cmd to install and update; the legacy Setup.cmd can select an old Workshop copy.

Changes

  • Simplified player YAML: only slot name, ending region, starting combat, skill-point amount and Soul Orb toggle are exposed. Regional logic and the current mission catalog now default correctly. Download the refreshed APworld together with this YAML; older builds require explicit internal settings.

  • Fix APworld container loading and AP 0.6.8 generation compatibility.

  • Allow ordinary progression to cross games in a multiworld. Opening cooking and smelting remain local. Regional placement deadlines apply only within the recipient's Craftopia world.

  • Correct Universal Tracker Skill Point reconstruction and bound progression reachability caching.

  • Grant a starting weapon matching the selected class in newly generated regional seeds. Bow includes arrows; Staff includes Magic Tier 1 and a skill point. Existing seeds retain their original behavior.

  • Normalize the Staff starter's Magic unlock so it actually opens Magic Tier 1, including recovery of already recorded starter unlocks on reconnect.

  • Avoid clearing Field Guide activity on repeated messages for the same session and show the active validation result instead of a misleading waiting message.

  • Retain reviewed equipment tiers, tower recipe requirements, region goals and progression safeguards from the previous regional build.

Validation

  • Refreshed simplified-YAML build: all 91 source tests passed, plus 24 full packaged generations covering all six endings in four player layouts. This defaults change postdates the Ionium/50-game runs below; those results describe the preceding build.

  • APworld source suite: 89 tests passed before the preceding main-branch merge.

  • Packaged generation matrix: 72 cases covering six endings, three starting modes and four player layouts; three additional 16-player generations passed.

  • A full 50-player / 50-distinct-game generation passed. Its actual server data contained every expected Craftopia item in the 119-item Geezah pool; opening cooking/smelting stayed local.

  • Final audited APworld: Ionium AP 0.6.8 passed 253 core tests and 33 fuzz cases across all 11 variants. The preceding candidate also passed 360 fuzz cases; detailed artifact distinctions are in the generation audit.

  • Starter transaction, unlock replay and enrollment/reload tests cover duplicate prevention. The owner confirmed the corrected Staff starter and session display work in game on October 28.

Generation success verifies the modeled logic, not every physical route or combat scenario. Native Craftopia shared-world co-op still needs host/guest testing; AP mixed-game rooms are a separate feature. Later-region and map/pause coverage remain incomplete. The broad historical client test runner is not claimed to pass.

See the repository README and installation guide for current setup instructions, and docs/GENERATION_AUDIT_20261027.md for detailed generation evidence.

Craftopia Archipelago 1.18.0-rc.1 regional alpha

This build pairs the reviewed regional APworld with the mod and portable bridge that enforce it. New regional seeds use equipment catalog equipment_reviewed_20261024_r1 and equipment protocol 3. Older seeds keep their original equipment rules.

  • 206 eligible equipment assignments from the player's workbook are active. Seven marked legacy, unavailable or temporary remain excluded.
  • Combat Support (gauntlets, gloves and reviewed gun attachments) gets one tier-one AP unlock in Geezah. Crafting still requires native ages/materials.
  • Regional combat thresholds are Geezah 2, Millewind 3, Yarden Mountain 4, Yarden Ruin 5, Owatatsu 6 and Brigandine 7. Weapon families are alternatives; staff routes require Magic and a skill point.
  • Each progression receipt has its own regional placement deadline. Life starts unlocked. Tower repair recipe dependencies remain intact.
  • The saved-loadout restoration, missed-dungeon reconciliation and observed Armory station fixes are included.

Installation

Close Craftopia, extract the complete Windows ZIP, and run Setup.cmd. Setup selects the subscribed Workshop copy when available, or installs the bundled mod and bridge. Install This Test Build.cmd remains available for an explicit manual installation. Give your AP host the matching craftopia.apworld. Open F8 to connect normally. Installing does not change your existing seed or enroll a different character.

The new equipment assignments and placement rules require a newly generated regional seed. Current tier numbering is preserved; copper-first renumbering is not part of this build. Do not mix the new APworld with an older mod/bridge.

This is an experimental candidate. Automated checks cover all 206 item boundaries, historical catalogs, protocol negotiation, delivery and regional generation. A live playthrough of this exact build is still needed. Workshop startup, Field Guide and existing-session connection passed a live smoke test. Multiplayer validation remains pending.

Simple setup

Download Craftopia-Archipelago-1.16.0-alpha.2-Windows.zip, extract it, and double-click Setup.cmd. Press Enter to install. Setup detects Craftopia and downloads the verified modern loader automatically. No compiler, Python installation, or separate bridge window is required.

If the AP Workshop copy is downloaded, Setup configures it; otherwise it installs the included manual copy. Existing AP records, saves and other mods are preserved. Restore Previous Setup.cmd restores the pre-setup files using verified backups.

After installation: launch Craftopia and use F8 > Connection for server, slot and password. The matching APWorld and YAML are included for the room host.

Experimental Geezah/Millewind alpha. The gameplay mod remains v1.16.0; this release improves installation. Workshop listing remains private pending its final visual connection acceptance. GitHub installation is available now.

Validation: reviewed installer lifecycle/interruption tests; clean filesystem installation; real Workshop setup/startup and restore; all 48 AP records unchanged; package/runtime handshake and privacy checks. See repository installation instructions for details.

v1.16.0-alpha.1 - Ready-to-use Windows regional alpha

@Akamarus Akamarus released this 19 Oct 19:24

v1.16.0 — downloadable alpha

Ready-to-use Windows x64 package: compiled BepInEx plugin, isolated Python bridge, matching APWorld, player YAML and installer. BepInEx 5 Mono remains a separate prerequisite. Game assemblies are not included.

AP preferences and persistent progress now live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CraftopiaArchipelago. Existing installations migrate on first launch, preserving the original files. Updates and uninstalls must leave this user-data folder intact.

The current playable endpoints are Geezah and Millewind. Both have completed controlled playtests; later regions and native multiplayer remain unvalidated. Soul Orb map markers and Field Guide pause have automated coverage but still await live visual/input acceptance. This is an experimental alpha, not a stable release.

Workshop is a separate private acceptance candidate. A downloadable GitHub package does not imply that Workshop installation has passed.

Third-party runtime notices are in mod/bridge/licenses and PROVENANCE.json. CPython and websockets are redistributed with their licenses. Craftopia and Archipelago are owned by their respective creators; this is an unofficial integration.
