Zippa DB 0.1.2
What's new
Query editor
- Implicit LIMIT: a lone SELECT (or WITH … SELECT) with no bound of its own now goes out with LIMIT 500 by default, so a quick look at a big table doesn't read all of it. It's a setting (Editor › Running), and the status bar carries a Limit checkbox and row count that override it for one tab, saved with the tab.
:nameand$namequery variables, prompted for in an editor dialog- A query formatter for SQL tabs
- Settings for script transactions and for sharing one connection across buffers
Results
- CSV/JSON export for query results
- A failed query run now shows its error in the tab's own result pane, not just the status bar, so each tab keeps its own failure
Schema and structure
- Create tables from the schema editor and databases from the database picker
- A view's CREATE VIEW statement on Inspect structure
- ER diagrams: tables drawn with their columns and key rows, foreign keys routed between the rows they join, and a focus mode that lays out one table's neighborhood (table picker + depth)
Connections and management
- User management for Postgres and MySQL
- Saved queries in the sidebar; tabs remember the saved query they came from and update it in place
Interface
- Title bar, sidebar, and query/table toolbars redesigned around labelled controls: a searchable database picker, sidebar commands behind one menu, labelled Run/Export buttons, segmented result tabs, and a Database menu
- The menu bar now draws in-window on Linux and Windows, and is merged into the title bar there
- Tooltips and ellipses pass across the app, and the query editor toolbar is cleaned up
- Sidebar tabs collapse to icons when too narrow
- The command palette ranks by relevance with fuzzy matching
Fixes and polish
- A cleanup pass: ER diagram edges on Postgres, passwords kept out of the console log, Escape closes the create-database, user, and variables dialogs, and an unreadable saved-queries file is preserved instead of overwritten
