AlphainZ 0.1.78

The first public release of AlphainZ, a research assistant inside Zotero that runs on your own models and API keys.

Install: download alphain-z.xpi below. In Zotero 7 or later, choose Tools → Plugins → the gear icon → Install Plugin From File… and pick the file. After that, Zotero checks this repository for new versions by itself.

What it does

• Semantic search of your whole library, text and figures: every PDF is indexed by passage and by page image, with a cloud model (Gemini Embedding 2, OpenAI) or one on your own computer (EmbeddingGemma 2 in Ollama).
• Ask about any passage from the PDF popup. Answers cite the sentences they rest on, and the question and answer can be saved into the highlight's comment.
• Writes into Zotero — highlights and comments, notes, tags and collections — asking you before each change.
• Your own models: DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Zhipu, Google Gemini, OpenAI, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Chat Completions or Responses), with thinking levels, context window and output limit set per model.
• Sync across computers through Zotero or a folder you choose, and an MCP server so other agents can search your library.

AlphainZ is a fork of Beaver by Joscha Legewie and, like Beaver, is free software under the GNU AGPL-3.0.

• 用你自己的模型：DeepSeek、OpenRouter、智谱、Google Gemini、OpenAI、Ollama，以及任何兼容 OpenAI 的接口（Chat Completions 或 Responses）；每个模型可以设思考档位、上下文窗口和输出上限。
• 多端同步：对话和设置可以通过 Zotero 或你选的文件夹同步；还有 MCP 服务器，让其他 AI 工具搜索你的文献库。

AlphainZ fork 自 Joscha Legewie 的 Beaver，和 Beaver 一样以 GNU AGPL-3.0 开源。

Update manifest

Zotero reads update.json from this release to find new versions of AlphainZ. To install AlphainZ, download alphain-z.xpi from the latest release instead.
