v0.5.0
Suvadu 0.5.0 adds Home, a searchable map of everything Suvadu does, and reworks recall around finding a command: identical commands grouped with when each last ran, and matches highlighted. The install script can now install without sudo, add the shell hook for you and verify the release signature.
Added
- Suvadu Home. A bare
suvat a terminal, orsuv home, opens a searchable map of everything Suvadu does, grouped by task. Typing searches the features, not your history, and each shows the real command behind it. - A startup screen for a bare
suv. Set Startup Screen tohelpinsuv settingsto keep the old command overview instead. - Suvadu tells you when a newer release is out. Once a day, in the background, with the update command for how you installed it. Nothing about you or your history is sent, and it can be turned off.
- Recall shows why each command matched. The matched characters are highlighted in every result row.
- The grouped view says when a command last ran and how often, with Last used and Runs columns.
- The install script can install without sudo (
--user, or--dir DIR). - The install script can add the shell hook for you, after asking and backing up your rc file.
- The install script checks the release signature with
minisignwhen it is installed. - Recall defaults in
suv settings: default match mode, starting scope and compact recall.
Changed
- Recall opens in the Commands view.
Ctrl+Randsuv searchgroup identical commands into one row;Ctrl+Ushows every run. - Recall's labels make fewer claims. Enter is labelled Use, since it puts the command on your prompt and never runs it, and the title says exactly what it counts.
suv --helpstarts withhome.- Atuin import is tested through Atuin 18.23.0.
Fixed
- Typing in
suv searchno longer waits for each search to finish. - Recall restores the terminal when it cannot finish setting it up, and keeps your place when you switch views.
- Commands that differ only in whitespace no longer look identical.
fuzzysearch folds non-ASCII case, astermsdoes.suv updateuses sudo only when it has to, andsuv uninstallanduninstall.shremove install-script installs, and only what they added.- Re-running the install script updates the existing copy instead of installing a second one or overwriting someone else's.
- The Homebrew install note covers Bash and links the setup guide on suvadu.sh.
