ExtraDock 4.4.11

Peek at a hidden dock from the screen edge, build App Stacks from any right-click, and a round of fixes. Build 44110. Includes everything from the 4.4.9 and 4.4.10 betas.

🆕 New

  • Show at Screen Edge While Hidden: when a fullscreen app (Hide on Fullscreen) or a maximized window (Hide on Window Hover) has hidden your dock, rest the pointer on the dock's screen edge and the dock comes back. Move away and it hides again. Turn it on per dock in Dock properties → Behavior, right under Hide on Fullscreen. It works on docks pinned to a screen edge, uses your Reveal Delay and Hide Delay, and is off by default.
  • New App Stack with / Add to App Stack: right-click an app or folder in the dock to start a new App Stack with another item, or to add it to an App Stack you already have. Works anytime, not only in Edit Dock mode.
  • Manage Devices…: Settings → License now has a Manage Devices… button for license keys. It opens your licenses page in Appit Services, so you can free up a Mac yourself. The same button appears when a key has reached its device limit.

✨ Improved

  • Dock menus open beside the item: right-click and Control-click menus now open next to the item instead of at the pointer: above a bottom dock, below a top or notch dock, and toward the screen from a side dock. They no longer cover the icon or the dock. (macOS 14.4 or later; older systems keep the menu at the pointer.)

🐛 Fixed

  • Dock menus open right away: opening a dock's right-click menu could freeze ExtraDock for a moment when another app was slow to hand over what it had copied. ExtraDock now only reads the clipboard when you actually choose Paste Settings.
  • Copies of the same app stay apart: some apps install two versions side by side under the same identity (for example Photoshop 2025 and Photoshop 2026). Each dock item now shows its own copy's running dot, clicking a copy that isn't running opens that copy, and clicking a running copy brings that copy forward without starting a second one.
  • Trash count no longer freezes: on some Macs, macOS can stop answering ExtraDock's Automation permission check, and the Trash widget's count stopped updating for the rest of the session. ExtraDock now waits at most a few seconds, keeps showing the last count and tries again on the next update.
  • Settings windows keep outside changes: widget, folder and item settings windows no longer save an old copy over changes made while they were open (for example by an AI assistant through ExtraDock's AI connection). If you changed the same setting yourself, the outside change wins and a short note tells you. Cancel only undoes your own edits.
