GCMM exFAT v1.2
Virtual memory cards
The memory card images your Launcher keeps on the SD card (swiss/saves/MemoryCardA.USA.raw and so on) now work just like real memory cards.
- Choose a card: when there's more than one, GCMM exFAT asks which memory card to use, real or virtual, before backing up, restoring, deleting or formatting.
- Copy between cards: a new Card tools option copies saves from any card to any other card, real or virtual, either way.
- New virtual card: make a blank card on the SD card for Slot A or B, for any region (USA, JPN, EUR, KOR) and any size (59 to 2043 blocks).
- Whole-card backups: back up a virtual card as a .raw image, or restore one onto it.
- Format: format a virtual card the same way as a real one.
Opening
- New opening animation: GCMM exFAT now starts with the logo doing a back flip and sliding into a slot, with its own sound. Then the grid and the main screen fade in.
- Skip it: press A or START to go straight to the main screen.
- Turn it off: use the new Opening setting in Settings.
- Ready when it ends: your memory cards and saves are read while the opening plays.
Also
- The bar along the bottom stays bright when a panel is open, since it describes what's in the panel.
- Settings has a new Opening row, between Menu sounds and Launcher.
Installing
Download gcmm.zip and copy the gcmm folder to your SD card, where your Launcher looks for apps. Your settings and backups are kept.
GCMM exFAT v1.1
New
- Network transfer (in Card tools): send files to your SD card from a phone or computer on your home network. Scan the QR code on screen, or type the address into a browser.
- The GameCube asks where each file goes on the SD card.
- Zip files are unzipped into the folder you choose, or kept as a zip if you prefer.
- If a file with that name is already there, you can replace it or keep both.
- The page also lists your backups in
MCBACKUP, so you can download your saves to your phone or computer.
- Exit to Launcher now asks first: press B once and "Press B again to exit to Launcher" appears across the top. Press B again to leave.
Changed
- "Choose the SD card" has been replaced in Card tools by Network transfer. If you have more than one SD card adapter, GCMM exFAT asks which to use when it starts.
- New icons for Network transfer and Settings.
Requirements
Network transfer and Update from GitHub need a Broadband Adapter or a WIZnet-based adapter (such as the ETH2GC) connected to your router.
Install
Copy the gcmm folder from the zip to your SD card, where your Launcher looks for apps (replacing the old one). If you're on v1.0, you can also update from Settings > Update from GitHub.
GCMM exFAT v1.0
GCMM exFAT v1.0
The first release of GCMM exFAT, a fork of suloku's GCMM for the GameCube that backs up, restores and deletes memory card saves using an SD card.
What's new
- exFAT SD cards, as well as FAT and FAT32
- A new look in the style of the GameCube's own menus, built around three jobs: Back up, Restore and Card tools
- Tick boxes, so you can back up or restore several saves at once, with labels showing which saves are New, Changed or Backed up
- Both memory cards show at the top when there's one in each slot
- The buttons you can press are shown along the bottom of every screen
- Settings: resolution, 4:3 or 16:9, picture width and overscan, kept on the SD card
- Update from GitHub, right from Settings, with a Broadband Adapter or an ETH2GC
- Exit to Launcher with B on the main screen, or from Settings
- A new logo and splash screen
Install
Copy the gcmm folder from the zip to your SD card, where your Launcher looks for apps. It holds default.dol, opening.bnr and cacert.pem.
