PaperWeb v1.0.0 — Full UTF-8, gzip, Link Navigation & History

What's New in v1.0.0

  • gzip/deflate Support — Opens modern compressed websites out of the box. No more "unable to load" errors!
  • UTF-8 & Cyrillic — Russian, Ukrainian, and other non-Latin characters render perfectly using efont.
  • Link Navigation — Use , and / to jump between links, ENTER to follow. No more typing URLs for every click!
  • Link Highlighting — Selected link appears as cyan text on black background.
  • Browsing History — Press DEL to go back (10 steps).
  • Zoom — = and - to adjust text size (0.5x to 3.0x).
  • Smart URL Resolver — Handles relative links, protocol-relative URLs (//), and absolute paths.
  • Google Smart Search — Type any word without dots → automatically searches Google.

  • Streaming Renderer — Text appears line-by-line as it downloads
  • No Framebuffer — Only ~100KB RAM usage, never crashes on large pages

Installation

  1. Download PaperWeb_v1.0.0.bin below
  2. Flash to M5Stack Cardputer using M5Burner or ESP32 Download Tool
  3. Press [TAB] to connect to WiFi, then [ENTER] and start browsing!
