What changes against 4.0.0-beta.3. Coming from 3.4: docs/upgrade-4.md is the short version, the three beta sections below are the whole of it.

Upgrading: what changes

  • The sync folder's .gitattributes keeps every file as written (* -text). Before, on a PC whose git converts line endings (core.autocrlf true, Git for Windows' default), git listed the files an export wrote as changed though their content was the same. cts set-sync-folder adds the line to an existing repository and gives the files git checked out with CRLF their LF back; the quick window offers that once an IDE session where git converts them. Commit .gitattributes so every PC of the team gets it.

Sync

  • An import is refused before it writes anything when an object it would change was edited in the IDE after its plan read it (an edit made while a merge window was open, say); run it again to carry the edit.
  • A view file is written to a file beside it that then replaces it, so a write cut short leaves the old file whole (~cts-*.tmp, which the sync folder's .gitignore names).

Agent

  • A start that fails part way stops what it started, and a stop stops every part though one fails, naming the failed ones.
