Reference Application 0.1.0-alpha.3

0.1.0-alpha.3 completes walkthrough Step 3: Register AsiBackbone Services. AsiBackbone is now part of the NCAT startup path and middleware pipeline, but no endpoint is governed yet.

Important

This is an alpha pre-release. The Reference Application is an example, not a product. Governance rules, governed endpoints, and persisted audit evidence are still planned.

What changed

AsiBackbone service registration

AddApplicationAsiBackbone adds AsiBackbone's ASP.NET Core integration and maps the governance actor from the claims NCAT has already normalized:

NCAT keeps ownership of authentication and claim normalization; AsiBackbone only reads the result.

Endpoint governance middleware

UseAsiBackboneEndpointGovernance(requireEndpointRoutingRegistered: true) runs after routing, authentication, and authorization, and before endpoints execute. Governance is opt-in at this stage, so existing endpoints without governance metadata behave exactly as before. No policy evaluators, capability validators, or receipt sinks are registered yet.

Landing page

/ now serves a ReferenceApplication landing page from HomeController.Index, with explicit anonymous access, instead of the NCAT template's Razor Page.

EF Core design-time commands

dotnet ef commands such as migrations list and database update no longer log a spurious fatal "application terminated unexpectedly" error. The startup catch now excludes the HostAbortedException that those commands throw on purpose; real startup failures are still logged as fatal and rethrown.

Tests

20 new tests cover the service registration, the actor claim mapping (including an end-to-end authenticated request), the middleware's placement (an endpoint marked [GovernancePolicy] is stopped before its action runs), and the startup exception filter. The suite now has 471 tests.
