Same Wine 11.0 engine as v1.5 with one wineserver patch. Existing installs get it with soju update (Soju v1.7.2 or later).

  • Battle.net game updates no longer stop at "Unable to fix permissions" (BLZBNTAGT00000846) (patches/wineserver-stored-acls.patch). Before patching a game, the Battle.net Agent writes access lists on the game folder and reads them back. Wine rebuilt a file's security descriptor from its Unix permission bits every time, so what came back had no inherited entries and no Users/Administrators entries, and the Agent gave up. Diablo II: Resurrected could not update. wineserver now keeps the descriptor a program writes in a user.wine.sd extended attribute, together with the Unix permission bits it was written for, and returns it while those bits are unchanged. A chmod made from macOS falls back to the old behavior.

Verified on APFS copies of a real Battle.net bottle (M4 Pro, macOS 26.5): with v1.5 the D2R update stopped with error 2118; with this wineserver the Agent's update finished on an untouched copy, and Battle.net sign-in and D2R online play (character select) worked. Mechanism and evidence in docs/DIAGNOSIS.md.

The tarball is the v1.5 build with bin/wineserver rebuilt from the same configured tree plus this patch (rpath and entitlements applied as in scripts/build-engine.sh); every other file is byte-identical. As before it carries no GPTK payload.
