Added
- Windows installer (
VigilSetup-<version>.exe): per-user installation without administrator rights,
updates in place, removable through Windows Settings. The portable zip is still available. - Windows: application icons from the executables; processes are named by their file description.
Changed
- Quieter interface: system UI font, calmer colors, fewer borders. Removed the resource tiles and filter
chips on the Processes page, the CPU/memory summary in the navigation and the permanent status bar. - Processes page: plain group headings, aligned column titles, heat map only for noticeable usage,
GPU columns hidden without GPU data, compact detail strip (off by default). - Performance page: borderless device list and figures, temperatures as values instead of extra graphs.
Performance
- The Processes page no longer redraws at the display refresh rate; idle CPU usage dropped from about
10 % to below 1 % of one core. - Windows: one data sample takes about 10 ms instead of 39 ms (native process, disk and network queries,
per-process caching, no periodic WMI queries).
Fixed
- Windows: disks showed 0 % active time; active time, response time and capacity are now reported per drive.
- Windows: kernel CPU time, suspended processes, cache sizes and hardware-reserved memory were missing.
- Windows: garbled names for executables with a malformed version resource.
