Franklin Agent 3.49.23
Security fix. Upgrade if you run franklin proxy, franklin daemon or
franklin init.
- The proxy needs a token.
franklin proxysigns a USDC payment from
your wallet for every request it forwards, and until now it accepted any
request that reached 127.0.0.1. Any other account on the machine, any
local program, and any web page served from a local dev server could
spend from your wallet through it. The proxy now refuses requests without
its token with a 401. The token is created once in
~/.blockrun/proxy-token(owner-only) and is accepted as
Authorization: Bearer <token>orx-api-key: <token>./healthstays
open. - Claude Code is set up for you.
franklin initwrites the token as
ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN. Settings written by an olderfranklin init
carry the old placeholderx402-proxy-handles-auth; the next proxy start
(directly, throughfranklin daemon, or from the login item) replaces it
with the token.~/.claude/settings.jsonis set to owner-only because it
now holds the token. Restart Claude Code afterwards. - If you set the variables in your shell, change
ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKENto$(cat ~/.blockrun/proxy-token).franklin proxyprints the line to copy. - The proxy no longer forwards the client's own
Authorizationor
x-api-keyheader to the gateway, so the token never leaves the machine.
