Version 1.6.0 Release

What's Changed

Get Started

  • With no servers set up, the Launch page shows a Get Started checklist: link the game and MHServerEmu, start the Server and Apache, add a local profile, and review the launch options. The ? button in the Servers header brings it back.
  • Clearer launch problems: a warning if the game executable isn't MarvelHeroesOmega.exe, a tooltip on the Launch button while none is set, and red Rail dots (with the error as tooltip) when the Server or Apache fails to start.

Add Server and local accounts

  • Add and Edit Server now have Remote, Local and From Backup tabs. Local profiles always use localhost.
  • With SQLite persistence (Account.db), saving a Local profile keeps the server account in step: it creates a missing account (admin by default, starting the server if needed), offers to set the password if it differs, and leaves the server alone if it already matches. A line under Email says which will happen, and "Save profile anyway" is always offered on an error.
  • With JSON persistence, the Local tab explains the single built-in account and fills in its login.
  • A second profile for the same account is refused, and a new server is selected straight away.
  • Passwords in account commands are masked in the Server console, and the console suggests your local profiles' emails.

Restoring backups

  • From Backup now works with JSON persistence: the backup replaces the server's save as an admin account and sets the player name in Config. A copy of the previous save is kept in the Data folder (up to the JSON DB's Max Backups), and a local profile is only added if you don't have one.
  • Account.db import and restore now honour a custom [SQLiteDBManager] FileName and no longer create an empty Account.db before the server's first start.

Server updates

  • The Updates card shows the installed MHServerEmu build and won't reinstall it, falls back to yesterday's nightly if today's isn't out yet, and can't run twice at once.

Data editors

  • Leaving a tab or closing an editor with unsaved changes now asks first, and Save & Close now closes the Tuning and Store editors.
  • Tuning and Patch files are written atomically, with a .bak copy of the previous file.
  • Fixed Tuning value parsing, duplicate adds and prototype search hints, and blank Store Source names.

Themes and tooltips

  • The default theme was very dark, fixing it prompted a full sweep of the themes and now all meet WCAG contrast targets (text 4.5:1, borders 3:1), the smallest text is 10px, and tints and glows follow each theme's own colours.
  • All tooltips use the app's style, and appear after a short hover delay or on keyboard focus.

Bug fixes

  • The Server console Lock button now stops auto-scrolling.
  • Small Launch page fixes: matching Username and Password box heights, the dashboard port read after the config loads, and no stray quotes in the "Select a server" prompt.

Version Comparison: v1.5.2...v1.6.0

Release File Summary:
For first installs, get one of the two files below:

  • mh-multiverse.exe: pre-compiled executable
  • MH.Multiverse_<version>_x64_en-US.msi: Microsoft Installer, generates the mh-multiverse.exe, and will also include an uninstaller at the target directory. The only artefacts outside of the executable itself, are com.mhmultiverse.app/ folders in %APPDATA%/Roaming/ (persisted app settings like server lists) and %APPDATA%/Local/ (Tauri's WebView)
  • The .sig files are used to verify during the in-app updater if upgrading from within MH Multiverse, and don't need to be downloaded manually

Updating MH Multiverse:

  • As settings & server profiles persist in %APPDATA%/Roaming/com.mhmultiverse.app/multiverse.json, updating to newer versions of MH Multiverse is as simple as removing the old executable and getting a new one (either pre-compiled, via the installer, or updating within the app in Settings -> About). New versions will find multiverse.json to restore your settings and server list.
