Phone-style folders for your Windows 11 desktop: drop one icon on another to make a group. Groups are virtual, so your files never move, and Windows' own desktop comes back as soon as you quit.

Install

  1. Download Folder.Explorer_0.3.5_x64-setup.exe below and run it. It installs for your user only, no administrator rights needed.
  2. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC": click More info → Run anyway.

Requires Windows 11 (x64). Upgrading: Folder Explorer offers new versions itself (Settings ▸ About), or install over the old version; your layout and settings stay.

Fixed

  • Dim, Blur and your own wallpaper reach the right edge of the screen. A thin strip there used to show the Windows wallpaper, untouched.
  • Blur with the Windows wallpaper source works on Wallpaper Engine and other live wallpapers. They stay live and Windows blurs them, at a fixed strength. Before, Windows' saved wallpaper picture replaced them.
  • Shift+Delete deletes files for good, as in File Explorer, after Windows asks. It used to send them to the Recycle Bin. Answering No in a Windows delete confirmation no longer says something went wrong.
