Not all applications recognise the virtual "OBS-camera" #54
Comments
me too, it seems to work on SLOBS but on discord idk why but it's flipped and on Snap Cam it doesn't even recognize it. |
Current Skype version also doesn't recognize virtual cam. It doesn't show on the list of available webcams. |
Have done a bit more testing. Camera App on Windows 10 - Not Recognized What's the deal? |
Tested Chrome, Skype, Firefox, results agree with Compleur. Further Research showed me this. Run in Administrator Command Prompt Fixed it. (This is part of the manual install process, I guess the installer is not doing it.) |
You can add the Zoom executable (downloaded/installed when opening/hosting a meeting) to that list. Although you can see the virtual cameras in the list, you'll get an error when attempting to open them, even after doing the manual install process above. |
Zoom issue is only on the latest zoom version. One dll is causing the issue. See this thread #78 (comment) |
I was eventually able to force it to do what I wanted. I realized that I'd
run the install.exe as myself, my normal user on my workstation. What can I
say, it was 3am... XD
I removed the servers manually (the good old process, as you documented)
and then manually reinstalled them, and then things worked. There's no
audio of course, but that's easily solved by downloading and installing vb
audio cable; I'm pulling audio from Traktor so don't care about OBS anyway,
there is no audio track associated with the video source I'm sending from.

The following applications do not recognise the virtual OBS-camera:
It's strange, in my tests only Google Chrome recognises the virtual camera.
Any hints?
I will also post an issue on Unreal Engine.
Thank you!
