AdWizz v1.5.0
AdWizz 1.5.0
📊 Stats dashboard: a new Stats tab with bar charts: ads, trackers and threats blocked per day, which apps had the most ads and trackers blocked (Android 10+), and the most-blocked addresses. Tap an app's bar to see its numbers or cut off its internet. Counted on your phone only.
⏭️ YouTube & Spotify ads: the add-on (now AdWizz Add-on 1.1.0) taps YouTube's "Skip" the moment it appears and mutes ads that can't be skipped, and mutes Spotify while an ad plays. AdWizz walks you through turning on Spotify's "Device broadcast status", which this needs.
🙈 Block sponsored content: a new switch that blocks Taboola, Outbrain and 20+ similar "Sponsored stories" networks everywhere, and covers sponsored cards in the YouTube and Instagram apps.
🔓 HTTPS filtering for browsers (beta, Android 10+): optional. Once you install AdWizz's own certificate, browsers' traffic is filtered: ad URLs blocked, YouTube's ads removed on youtube.com (incognito too), ad boxes hidden. The certificate's key stays locked in your phone's secure hardware. Apps aren't affected.
Also new
- Pause blocking for 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour or until you resume
- Block any app's internet
- App names in Recent activity
- Install, update, pause, turn off or uninstall the add-on from AdWizz; it updates itself, and removes itself if AdWizz is uninstalled
- "Uninstall AdWizz and add-on" in one go
Everything stays on your phone and free.

AdWizz 1.4.0
- 40 languages. AdWizz now speaks Hindi, Bengali, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Indonesian, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and 30 more, and follows your phone's language. On Android 13+ you can also pick a language just for AdWizz (Settings → Apps → AdWizz → Language). Arabic, Urdu, Persian and Hebrew are laid out right-to-left. The website is translated too.
- 3 million blocked domains. New lists: OISD Big, AdGuard Mobile Ads (ads inside apps), third-party trackers and tracking-link redirects, and HaGeZi Threat Intelligence (2 million+ scam, phishing and malware domains). Optional switches for HaGeZi Pro++ and Perflyst's Android list.
- On-device blocklist database. Lists are compiled into one memory-mapped file, so AdWizz uses far less memory (Java heap ~50 MB → ~16 MB) and starts protection without re-reading every list.
- Fresher lists. Refreshed every 12 hours on Wi-Fi (2 days on mobile data); unchanged lists aren't downloaded again.
- Fixes: screens keep what you were doing when you rotate the phone; the QR setup link no longer changes on rotation; list rules meant for hiding page elements are no longer read as domains to block.

AdWizz 1.3.2
- Mac setup fixed. On macOS 26.1 and later, installing the ad-blocking DNS profile from the Devices screen failed with "The VPN service could not be created". The profile now installs on current macOS; iPhone and iPad are unchanged.

AdWizz 1.3.1
- "Protect other devices" works on Android 17. The QR code's setup page didn't open on other devices, because Android 17 blocks apps from talking to devices on your hotspot or Wi-Fi without the new Nearby devices permission. AdWizz now asks for it on the Devices screen.
- Step-by-step Reels Blocker setup. After the add-on installs, AdWizz shows three illustrated steps for Android's "Restricted setting": try it in Accessibility, tap ⋮ → Allow restricted settings in the add-on's App info, then switch it on.
- Smaller downloads. AdWizz 1.9 MB; the Reels Blocker add-on is now 22 KB (was 52 KB).

- Installs again on every phone. Google Play Protect was blocking AdWizz ("App blocked to protect your device") because the Reels & Shorts blocker used Android's Accessibility service. That blocker is now a small separate add-on, AdWizz Reels Blocker (52 KB), which AdWizz downloads and installs only when you turn on Block Reels & Shorts.
- New wizard: a young wizard with round glasses and a black pointed hat.
- Smaller app: 2.1 MB → 1.9 MB (Firebase Performance Monitoring removed).
Already have the Reels blocker on? After updating, open Settings → Block Reels & Shorts and tap Install add-on, then turn on "AdWizz Reels Blocker" in Accessibility settings.

AdWizz v1.2.0
What's new in 1.2.0
- Reels & Shorts blocked in browsers too: with "Block Reels & Shorts" on, AdWizz now backs out of YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Facebook Reels, Snapchat Spotlight and TikTok pages in Chrome, Brave, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet, Opera, Vivaldi, Kiwi and DuckDuckGo. In browsers it only reads the address bar.
- More short-video apps closed: TikTok Lite, Likee, Kwai, Snack Video, MX TakaTak, Triller and Roposo join TikTok, Moj, Josh and Chingari.
- TikTok-style sites blocked everywhere: with protection on, TikTok, Likee, Kwai and similar services are blocked over DNS, so their videos don't load inside other apps either.

AdWizz v1.1.0
What's new in 1.1.0
- Block Reels & Shorts (Settings → Focus): one switch backs you out of Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts and closes TikTok, Moj, Josh and Chingari. It's off until you turn it on, and Android asks you to allow it in Accessibility settings. It only checks which screen those apps show; it doesn't read what's on it.
- Easier to use: Home, Settings and Devices now sit in a bottom bar, and Settings and the QR code page use the whole screen.
- Clearer answers about streaming ads: Prime Video and JioHotstar stitch their video ads into the stream itself, so no DNS blocker can remove those. AdWizz still blocks their separate ad and tracking servers.
