WuWa VR 1.2.6 beta · 25 Oct 14:18 GMT — your voice in recordings, far lighting refill, no cutscene bars in full VR

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64, with the game update of 16 October 2026
(also checked with the game's 3.7.16 update). On top of 1.2.5.

New

  • Your microphone in recordings (Record page > Microphone, Off by default):
pick a microphone by name and your voice is mixed into the video's sound with
the game, kept in sync by the microphone's own clock. Microphone volume goes
from 0 to 300 %. A microphone that is not plugged in shows as "not connected".
The same choices are in the WuWa VR app's Recording options. SteamVR only.
  • Separate sound files (Record page, on by default): next to the video you
also get game.wav (what your PC plays) and microphone.wav (your voice), each
    alone, for editing.
  • One-eye recordings: Record page > Video style "Left eye, whole view" or
"Right eye, whole view": that eye's whole picture as you see it, one frame per
game frame (no repeated frames), with the headset pose of every frame saved
    for steadying later. SteamVR only.
  • Scene info in recordings (Record page, on by default): scene.txt next to
the video lists the quest and its step, dialogue lines, place names, the map
and your character at video time, so a clip can be found by what happened.
Your UID is never read or saved.
  • Recordings without the one-hour limit: they keep going until you stop
them (or the drive has less than 10 GB free). If SteamVR or the headset
stops, the video still plays, and a note in the headset says when a
    recording stopped by itself.
  • Controls card above your view: HUD page > Card place, Below your view (as
before) or Above your view; Card height is the angle from your line of sight.
  • Refill far lighting now (Fixes page): refills the far lighting in both
    eyes by hand.

Fixed

  • Far lighting darker in one eye: when the game refreshes its far lighting
outside a loading screen (after a long glide), it rebuilt only one eye's
copy, so distant hills looked darker in the other eye. WuWa VR now notices
and refills both eyes (Fixes page, Refresh far lighting automatically).
  • Cutscene bars: full VR hides the game's letterbox bars above and below
dialogue and story scenes (Fixes page, on by default). The stereo and mono
screens keep the game's bars; the game's Graphics setting Cutscene Mode >
Full Screen removes them there too.
  • First person with the diorama keeps your view in your character's head
again, with the world made small around you, instead of showing the headless
    body from 5 m away.
  • Long choices in the VR menu (microphone names) fit between the arrows.

The owner played 1.2.0 in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill), 1.2.1, an earlier 1.2.3 test build and the 1.2.5 test builds in the headset with the Kuro launcher copy of the game, and the 1.2.6 release build in the headset (SteamVR, Bigscreen Beyond, Kuro launcher copy), including the controls card above the view and a recording with the microphone. On the OpenXR simulator, with both the Steam and the Kuro launcher copies and the game's 3.7.16 update: the UI redirect starts and the stereo fixes pass their code checks; first person with the diorama stays in the head; the cutscene bars are hidden in full VR; the far lighting is refilled when the game rebuilds it in one eye. The far lighting refill after a real long glide has not been seen in the headset yet. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.6 (the bar at the top offers it; use
Restart to update when idle). When it starts again with the game closed, it
installs 1.2.6 beta by itself; Back to 1.2.5 in step 02 returns
to your previous package. The exact VR build is recording-voice-1-2-6. Your settings carry over.

The desktop app self-updates while idle. The portable ZIP is an advanced fallback
with the older browser interface and no desktop-app self-update.

Known limits

Many dialogue close-ups sit wider than the 2D shot, and dialogue runs slower than on the screens (a lower render resolution on the menu's Fixes page helps). Full VR can slow down a lot after switching between full VR and the screens several times in one session; restart the game. The character screen switches to the taller layout so its floor reflection stays live, but on the Weapon, Echoes, Forte and Chain tabs the reflection still freezes. Quest markers sit a little below their target in full VR. Story-video detection for automatic cinema is not yet confirmed on 3.7. At some distances a tree can sway in the wind in one eye only. Scene/dialogue loading stalls remain open. Some NPC lighting, reflections and fog/VFX still need testing. Epic injection and broad headset compatibility remain unverified.

Turning the 16:9 layout on or off (or, in the taller layout, switching view)
while a journey log chapter or the map is open moves the stick cursor's ring
off its click point until you reopen that screen. Hiding characters at your
eyes works in story close-ups with the game camera in full VR only.

After a future game update that only moves code, the self-port keeps the fixes
on. If the game's code changed, those fixes switch off until a matching WuWa VR
update is out; the game itself keeps working.

PS4/PS5 USB/Bluetooth shortcuts remain experimental and require physical testing.

The launcher is MIT open source. Public mod source changes retain their component
licences. The installer is unsigned; checksums and any exact-file VirusTotal
reports are not safety certificates. Unofficial injection can trigger anti-cheat
or account restrictions. The project is not approved by Kuro Games.

WuWa VR 1.2.5 beta · 18 Oct 18:16 BST — story camera nudge, recordings with sound, full ground detail

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64, with the game update of 16 October 2026.
On top of 1.2.4.

New

  • Story camera nudge: in story and dialogue shots in full VR, hold L3 and
    press Y to move nearer or X to move back (L3 + Y + X resets; keyboard
Page Up / Page Down / Home). The nudge follows the game's own camera through
the shot and resets at the next cut; the Cinema page can keep it for the whole
scene. The controls card shows the amount.
  • Recordings with sound: what your PC plays, as a stereo track (on by
default; Record page). Windows 10 cannot record one program alone, so voice
chat and music playing at the time are in it too.
  • Showcase video: Record page, Video style "Showcase: one eye, steady,
16:9" (SteamVR). Steadied and level with where you look (Showcase view height
tunes it), 720p up to 2160p.
  • Bigger recordings on SteamVR: 1536 and 2048 px per eye.
  • Desktop window HUD sits where you see it in the headset (Record page;
"Flat, like a monitor" is the old look).
  • Full ground detail (Fixes page, on by default): in full VR the game drew
the ground near you in less detail than in the flat game, so stone steps and
ledges were covered by dirt and your feet sank in. Full VR now keeps the
ground near you as detailed as the flat game; the stereo and mono screens
    keep the game's own setting.
  • Self-port: after a small game update that only moves code around,
WuWa VR finds its fixes in the new game build by itself, so the 16:9 HUD
layout and the stereo fixes stay on. If the game's code really changed, they
still switch off until a WuWa VR update.
  • Launcher: Troubleshooting → Repair & recovery → Remove old versions.

Fixed

  • First VR frame: no black right eye or frozen left eye for the first
seconds after VR starts, in full VR and on the stereo screen.
  • First person, the fixed camera and freecam stay through story and NPC
dialogue with keyboard and mouse, as they do on a controller.
  • The streamer privacy box covers the ESC terminal's User ID in the 16:9
    layout too.
  • The steady desktop window is off by default (it made the desktop window
lag behind the headset); the Record page has a switch and a Steadiness slider.
  • Freecam shows only the settings of the flying style you picked.

The owner played 1.2.0 in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill), 1.2.1 and an earlier 1.2.3 test build in the headset with the Kuro launcher copy of the game, and the 1.2.5 test builds (story camera nudge, showcase video, recordings, desktop HUD, first VR frame) in the headset (SteamVR) with the Kuro launcher copy. The 1.2.5 release build was tested on the OpenXR simulator with both the Steam and the Kuro launcher copies: the UI redirect starts and the stereo fixes pass their code checks; full ground detail turns on in full VR and back off on the stereo screen. The stereo screen start-up fix is checked by a unit test only. The 1.2.5 release build has not been played in a headset yet. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.5 (the bar at the top offers it; use
Restart to update when idle). When it starts again with the game closed, it
installs 1.2.5 beta by itself; Back to 1.2.4 in step 02 returns
to your previous package. The exact VR build is story-nudge-1-2-5.

Black bars above and below dialogue in full VR come from the game's Graphics setting Cutscene Mode: set it to Full Screen (this also removes them on the screens).

@Muhammad-Hazimi-Yusri Muhammad-Hazimi-Yusri released this 16 Oct 23:09

WuWa VR 1.2.4 beta · 17 Oct 00:04 BST — works with the 16 October game update

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64, with the game update of 16 October 2026.
On top of 1.2.3.

Fixed

  • HUD, menus and stereo fixes after the 16 October game update: the small
game update of 16 October (Steam and the Kuro launcher) turned off the 16:9
HUD and menu layout, the mouse and controller cursor fixes and the stereo
fixes, because they only switch on for the exact game build they were
checked against. 1.2.4 is 1.2.3 moved to the new game build, on both the
Steam copy and the Kuro launcher copy. Nothing else changes: settings,
controls and features are as in 1.2.3.

The owner played 1.2.0 in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill), 1.2.1 in the headset with the Kuro launcher copy of the game, and an earlier 1.2.3 test build in the headset (SteamVR) with the Kuro launcher copy. 1.2.4 is 1.2.3 moved to the game update of 16 October. It was tested on the OpenXR simulator with the updated game: on the Kuro launcher copy the HUD and menus in full VR, on the stereo screen and in mono theatre, the mouse, the controller and stick cursors and the character screen; on the Steam copy the UI redirect starts and the stereo fixes pass their code checks. The 1.2.4 release build has not been played in a headset yet. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.4 (the bar at the top offers it; use
Restart to update when idle). When it starts again with the game closed, it
installs 1.2.4 beta by itself; Back to 1.2.3 in step 02 returns
to your previous package (with the updated game, 1.2.3 keeps its HUD layout and
stereo fixes off). The exact VR build is game-hotfix-1-2-4.

The character screen switches to the taller layout so its floor reflection stays live, but on the Weapon, Echoes, Forte and Chain tabs the reflection still freezes. while a journey log chapter or the map is open moves the stick cursor's ring
off its click point until you reopen that screen. Hiding characters at your
eyes works in story close-ups with the game camera in full VR only.

After a future game update, the same fixes switch off again until a matching
WuWa VR update is out; the game itself keeps working.

PS4/PS5 USB/Bluetooth shortcuts remain experimental and require physical testing.

WuWa VR 1.2.3 beta · 15 Oct 23:07 BST — 16:9 menus and HUD, VR mouse cursor, automatic cinema

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64. On top of 1.2.2.

Fixed

  • Menu cursor in full VR: the HUD and menus are now laid out at the flat
game's 16:9, so round icons are round, story pictures are whole, and the
mouse and controller hit what they point at (the game laid them out for
each eye's shape). Controller buttons in the Terminal work. A 16:9 UI
    layout
switch on the HUD page brings back the taller 1.2.2 layout,
where the mouse, controller shortcuts and the left-stick cursor now work too.
Thanks to Indath for tracing the game's UI canvas size.
  • Fades reach both eyes: login, loading and story-cut fades no longer
leave one eye black or flash it white, and the one-eye frame after a world
    load is held back.
  • Classic UEVR window: opens in front of you and stays open (also over
the stereo screen); Back returns to the WuWa VR menu. Emergency keys:
Ctrl+Shift+End opens UEVR's classic window and Ctrl+Shift+Home the
WuWa VR menu. Thanks to Lelouche for the report and the idea.
  • Close-up move into performers: in some over-the-shoulder story shots
the close-up move put your eye inside the person in front. It now stops
    30 cm behind story performers.
  • One eye shaking on the stereo screen in story shots with camera shake:
both eyes now get the same game camera there too.
  • Menus after a view switch keep their layout, so the mouse and the
controller cursor still hit after switching to the stereo screen or mono
theatre with a full-screen menu open.
  • The mouse stays in the game window while the game is in front, so it no
longer slips onto another monitor; Alt-Tab frees it. Keep the mouse in the
    game window
on the Comfort page turns this off.
  • Restore controls from this launch (classic menu) and its Undo work
again (they failed with "Invalid profile value").
  • Translations: every text in the WuWa VR menu is in all ten languages,
including units, menu places, report kinds and the live status lines.
  • Launcher: Launch in VR offers a waiting update once per version. The
Player guide and Controls are updated for 1.2.3; Controls opens the
guide's controls section in your language.

New

  • VR mouse cursor: keyboard-and-mouse players see an arrow on the game UI
where the mouse is. It hides 10 seconds after the mouse stops, or as soon
    as you use the controller.
  • Simpler view shortcut: hold LT + RT and click R3 to switch
between full VR and the stereo screen (click again to switch back). Hold
    R3
(0.8 s) for mono theatre, and hold again to return.
  • Hide characters at your eyes (off by default; hold LT + RT, then
press Y): in story close-ups the headset's wider view can show a head
right at your eye that the flat shot leaves out. With this on, that
character is hidden whole while it is there; anyone the flat shot shows
stays. While it is off, a small note above the HUD names the shortcut, 3
    times in all.
  • Automatic cinema on by default: story videos switch to mono theatre and
the 2D pictures some story scenes show switch to the stereo screen, then
your view comes back. Story scenes and conversations keep the view you are
in. Settings from older versions get it switched on once.
  • Story scenes in 16:9 (HUD page, on): with the taller layout, every
conversation and story video switches to 16:9 while it plays, so story
    pictures show whole.
  • Character screen in the taller layout (HUD page, on): with the 16:9
layout, the character screen switches to the taller layout while it is
open, so its floor reflection keeps showing the current character.
  • Diorama scale (Quick page, 2x to 10x) and its own Diorama camera
(Camera page, 5 m back by default). Thanks to Lelouche for the request.
  • The WuWa VR menu shows each setting's default and whether it is saved;
X (Xbox) or Delete puts the setting back to its default. Save
    changes for next time
(Menu page) lets you try settings without saving.
  • Camera height reset: in first person and the fixed camera, L3 + Y +
    X
together puts the camera height back to its default.

The final 1.2.3 test builds were tested by the owner on the OpenXR simulator with both the Steam copy and the Kuro launcher copy: menus, the mouse and the controller cursor in the 16:9 and taller layouts, story pictures and story scenes, the character screen and the translations; on the Steam copy the UI redirect starts and the stereo fixes pass their code checks. The 1.2.3 release build has not been played in a headset yet. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.3 (the bar at the top offers it; use
Restart to update when idle). When it starts again with the game closed, it
installs 1.2.3 beta by itself; Back to 1.2.2 in step 02 returns
to your previous package. The exact VR build is ui-layout-1-2-3. Your settings carry
over.

During one test, a graphics driver reset happened right after three view
switches while recording at 3292 x 3292 per eye on a 10 GB card. If it happens
to you, a lower render resolution reduces the load.

PS4/PS5 USB/Bluetooth shortcuts remain experimental and require physical testing.

The launcher is MIT open source. Public mod source changes retain their component
licences. The installer is unsigned; checksums and any exact-file VirusTotal
reports are not safety certificates. Unofficial injection can trigger anti-cheat
or account restrictions. The project is not approved by Kuro Games.

WuWa VR 1.2.2 beta · 14 Oct 03:50 BST — HUD after view switches, ambient occlusion, Steam copy, package updates

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64. A fix release on top of 1.2.1.

Fixed

  • HUD after the stereo screen or mono theatre: going back to full VR could
leave the HUD and dialogue squashed until you opened and closed ESC. The
1.2.1 fix only worked when the headset's eye image was 2560 pixels wide.
WuWa VR now gives the game's HUD layout the headset's view size on any
headset, in the open world and in dialogue, and checks once a second in
full VR, so a HUD the game rebuilds is caught too. Thanks to Lelouche for
    the reports.
  • Stereo screen with the game UI hidden (L3 + B): the picture went black.
The game picture now stays in both panels.
  • Steam copy of the game: the HUD and menus were stuck to your eyes
instead of sitting on the VR panel, and several stereo fixes (mono
theatre's camera, the stereo camera, the reflection projection) were off.
The Steam copy is the same game build as the copy from Kuro's launcher,
but its program file is 20 KB smaller, and WuWa VR checked for one exact
size. It now accepts this build at any size; every piece of game code it
hooks must still match exactly before anything is hooked, as before.
Thanks to Indath for the report.
  • Ambient occlusion turned on in UEVR's cvar list
(r.AmbientOcclusionLevels): it now gets the both-eyes fix as well, not
only AO turned on through the Fixes page.

Changed

  • Ambient occlusion is on by default. Soft contact shadows in corners and
under objects, with both eyes rendered from a symmetric view so rocks, hills
and roofs shade the same in each eye. It is switched on once for settings
saved before 1.2.2; if you turn it off on the menu's Fixes page, it stays
off. On the test PC it cost about 2 ms per frame (7%).
  • The launcher updates the VR package by itself. When the app starts with
the game closed, it installs a newer public package for the same game
version. The package you had stays installed, and Back to … in step 02
returns to it. Test builds are never replaced. Step 02 now shows one Update
button; the full version list and the developer tools are under
    Troubleshooting.

The owner played 1.2.0 in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill) and played 1.2.1 in the headset with the Kuro launcher copy of the game. 1.2.2 was checked on the OpenXR simulator with both the Steam copy and the Kuro launcher copy: on both, the UI redirect starts, the stereo fixes pass their code checks, and the HUD comes back at the right size after the stereo screen and mono theatre, in the open world and in dialogue (on the Kuro copy also across nine simulated headsets). 1.2.2 has not been played in a headset yet. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.2 (the bar at the top offers it; use
Restart to update when idle). When it starts again with the game closed, it
installs 1.2.2 beta by itself; Back to 1.2.1 in step 02 returns
to your previous package. The exact VR build is steam-identity-1-2-2. Your settings carry
over.

In full VR the mouse or controller cursor in menus can pick a spot away from where it points, more so toward the edges; a fix is planned for 1.2.3. Opening the journey menu can flash one eye for a frame. Scene/dialogue loading stalls remain open. Some NPC lighting, reflections and fog/VFX still need testing. Automatic cinematic switching is experimental and off by default. Epic injection and broad headset compatibility remain unverified.

During one test, a graphics driver reset happened right after three view
switches while recording at 3292 x 3292 per eye on a 10 GB card. If it happens
to you, a lower render resolution reduces the load.

PS4/PS5 USB/Bluetooth shortcuts remain experimental and require physical testing.

licences. The installer is unsigned; checksums and any exact-file VirusTotal

WuWa VR 1.2.1 beta · 13 Oct 16:51 BST — live world behind menus, HUD, god rays and AO

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64. A fix release on top of 1.2.0.

Fixed

  • Full-screen menus: the quest log, the Esc menu and the journey menu no
longer freeze the world into a picture fixed in front of your eyes. The game
stopped drawing the world behind these menus (a saving on a flat screen); it
now keeps drawing it, so the world stays in place when you turn your head.
Behind these menus the graphics card now works as in normal play.
  • Journey (story) menu: its background picture sits on the floating menu
panel, behind the menu, instead of filling your view.
  • Squashed HUD after a view switch: coming back to full VR from the stereo
screen or mono theatre, the HUD and menus are full size straight away
    instead of squashed until ESC.
  • Storm-sky god rays (Fogveil Pagoda and other storm skies): the light
shafts no longer slide against the clouds when you turn your head. The game
drew them for its own 75° camera instead of each eye's view.
  • Ambient occlusion (Fixes page, still off by default): with it on, rocks,
hills and roofs now shade the same in both eyes. The picture is slightly
    softer with it on.

The owner played 1.2.0 in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill). The 1.2.1 fixes (ambient occlusion in both eyes, the storm-sky god rays, the live world behind full-screen menus, the journey picture on the menu panel and the HUD after a view switch) were measured on the OpenXR simulator and played there by the owner; a headset check is still pending. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.1, then choose and install 1.2.1 beta
in step 02. The exact VR build is godray-menu-1-2-1. Updating the app preserves your
selected VR package, so both updates are needed. Close the game and injector
first.

The HUD may still stay squashed after loading a new area until you open and close ESC.

The launcher is MIT open source. Public mod source changes retain their component
licences. The installer is unsigned; checksums and any exact-file VirusTotal
reports are not safety certificates. Unofficial injection can trigger anti-cheat
or account restrictions. The project is not approved by Kuro Games.

WuWa VR 1.2.0 beta · 11 Oct 22:49 BST — VR menu, controls cards and VR controllers

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64.

New VR menu

L3 + R3 (both stick clicks) now opens the WuWa VR menu instead of UEVR's
desktop window. It works with every input at once:

  • VR controllers: point the laser and pull the trigger, or use either
stick and A; B closes, grips switch pages.
  • Gamepad: D-pad or either stick, A select, B back, LB / RB pages.
  • Mouse and keyboard: click and scroll, or arrow keys, Enter, Esc, Tab.

Pages: Quick, Camera, Cinema, HUD, Controllers, Comfort, Fixes, Record and
Menu. They change the same settings as before. The Menu page picks the
language, each shown in its own script. All settings (classic UEVR
menu)
opens UEVR's full window, and turning off Use this menu when opening
UEVR
brings back UEVR's window on L3 + R3. Move the menu
anywhere (Y on a gamepad, or Menu page → Move menu) and set its size and
distance. On the stereo screen and in mono theatre it stays in front of the
picture.

Controls cards

No more remembering shortcuts. The L3 card starts pinned low, below the HUD,
with every L3 + button shortcut, and rises in front of you when you turn well
away; L3 + Menu hides it or pins it again. Hold L3 for half a second
to bring it up, or LT + RT for the views card (full VR, stereo screen,
mono theatre and blur). Each button lights up as you press it, and shortcuts
that do nothing in the current camera are greyed out. Size, height and
distance are on the HUD page. They replace the old L3 + Menu shortcut sheet.
With VR controllers the card names their buttons. A one-line tip shows on
the first three launches, and a short line after a view switch says how to
go on or come back for the first five switches (HUD page → View hints).

Every language

The WuWa VR menu, the controls cards, the player guide the launcher opens
and the launcher itself are now in all ten languages: English, Simplified
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese,
Russian and Arabic. Most were drafted by machine translation, so wording
may be rough in places; corrections from native speakers are welcome.

VR controllers for walking (optional)

Quest, Index and other OpenXR controllers can act as an Xbox pad for walking
and looking around. They start off each launch: hold the left Menu button for
1 second (or both stick clicks for 1 second on controllers without one). They
can share the game with an Xbox pad or treadmill: both together (default),
last used wins, or VR only. Controller slot: Automatic (default) follows
whichever pad is really connected, such as Reality Runner's virtual pad while
the real pad is hidden. All of it is on the new Controllers page, with a
live status line. This is a sightseeing layout, not a tested combat layout.

Treadmill runs

Treadmill run (Quick, Controllers or Record page) times your session and
saves your route in the game once a second, with a magenta sync flash in the
desktop view so an OBS video lines up with it. With Reality Runner open, 10
seconds of walking starts a run by itself and 5 minutes without walking ends
it. The run line shows the time, walking time and distance in the game. Hide
player IDs (while recording) also covers your UID during runs.

Views and cinema

  • LT + RT, then click R3: next view (full VR, stereo screen, mono
theatre). LT + RT, then hold R3 for 0.8 s: straight back to full VR.
  • LT + RT, then click L3: blur (depth of field) on or off. Blur is now on by
default and shows in both eyes at the 2D game's strength (1x), with the game's
other camera effects (colour grading, vignette) matched in both eyes too.
  • The stereo screen uses the game's own lens, and depth of field shows in both
    eyes.
  • Full VR dialogue close-ups move in along the game camera when the game sets a
focus, and follow the camera through the shot (Cinema page → Close-up match).

Recording and reporting problems

The menu's Record page records the headset view through the WuWa VR app.
A recording no longer stops when SteamVR briefly shows something else (it
pauses and carries on), and it continues in 5-minute parts until you stop it,
up to an hour. Hide player IDs (default: while recording) puts black boxes
over your UID; the boxes are approximate and can miss in full VR when the HUD
is squashed, so check a clip before sharing it.

Also

  • Render resolution (60-120 %) on the Fixes page, applied live.
  • Ambient occlusion is off by default: in VR it shaded rocks, hills and roofs
differently in each eye. Fixes page → Ambient occlusion brings it back.
  • Fixed a likely crash after changing the menu language.
  • A settings reference and credits on the website; its controller guide
    follows the controls cards.

The owner played this release in the headset (Valve Index controllers with a Bigscreen Beyond; a Meta Quest Pro with a Reality Runner treadmill) through private tests: the new VR menu with the laser and a gamepad, the view shortcuts, full-VR close-ups that follow the camera without getting stuck, blur in both eyes, from the start of a story scene, the menu in front of the stereo screen, a gamepad taking over at once from a put-down controller, the controls cards and the translated menu and VR controllers and a Reality Runner treadmill working together. The last test's additions (treadmill runs in the VR menu, the Controllers page, ambient occlusion off, the L3 card pinned low) and recording in 5-minute parts still need a headset check. In Move menu the VR thumbstick does not change the distance yet (use Menu distance). Many dialogue close-ups still sit wider than the 2D shot, and in full VR the HUD can stay squashed until ESC.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.2.0, then choose and install 1.2.0 beta
in step 02. The exact VR build is vr-menu-1-2-0. Updating the app preserves your
selected VR package, so both updates are needed. Close the game and injector
first. Your settings carry over.

The desktop app self-updates while idle. The portable ZIP is an advanced fallback
with the older browser interface and no desktop-app self-update.

Known limits

In full VR the HUD can stay squashed after a view switch or a new area until you open and close ESC, many dialogue close-ups sit wider than the 2D shot, and dialogue runs slower than on the screens (a lower render resolution on the menu's Fixes page helps). Scene/dialogue loading stalls and moving backgrounds behind flat menus remain open; mono theatre can help with menus.

WuWa VR 1.1.2 beta · 7 Oct 22:07 BST — Steam startup fix

For Wuthering Waves 3.7 on Windows x64.

Steam startup

1.1.1 still crashed at startup through Steam on the owner's Windows 10 PC. The
logs and crash dump showed the cause: the game's first frame arrived while the
mod was still checking the window, and the Steam overlay's hook on DirectX sent
that frame straight back into ours, over and over, until the game ran out of
stack. 1.1.2 guards every path that hands a frame on: if a frame comes back
round, it restores the real DirectX entry and presents the frame once. Normal
frames are untouched, including the DirectX 11 to 12 handoff used on the
Windows 11 PC.

The owner confirmed this release's VR build on the Windows 10 PC where 1.1.1 crashed through Steam: the game reaches VR through Steam and stays open. On that PC the Steam overlay sent the game's first frames back into our DirectX hook in a loop; 1.1.2 breaks the loop and presents the frame. The Windows 11 Steam PC retest and the new launcher window on a real launch are still pending.

New launcher window

  • Ten languages: English, 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Português (Brasil),
Français, Deutsch, Русский and العربية (right to left). A first start follows
    your Windows display language.
  • Step progress: a check when a step is done, an outline on the next one.
  • Black and gold look to match the website; app updates appear as a bar only
when one exists, and the app version sits in the footer.

Update

Update the launcher app to 1.1.2, then choose and install 1.1.2 beta in
step 02. The exact VR build is steam-guard-1-1-2. Updating the app preserves your
selected VR package, so both updates are needed. Close the game and injector
first. Then launch once through your usual route.

The desktop app self-updates while idle. The portable ZIP is an advanced fallback
with the older browser interface and no desktop-app self-update.

Evidence and remaining checks

A test that reproduces the overlay loop in its own process fails on 1.1.1's
hooks in all 7 cases and passes all 12 cases with the guard. Real-DirectX hook
checks pass with no guard warnings on normal paths. The backend in this release
is the exact file the owner ran through Steam.

PS4/PS5 USB/Bluetooth shortcuts remain experimental and require physical testing.
Existing graphics preferences, input behavior, simulator and injector are retained.
Scene/dialogue stalls, HUD refresh, moving flat-menu backgrounds and some
lighting/reflection/fog differences remain open.

The launcher is MIT open source. Public mod source changes retain their component
licences. The installer is unsigned; checksums and any exact-file VirusTotal
reports are not safety certificates. Unofficial injection can trigger anti-cheat
or account restrictions. The project is not approved by Kuro Games.

WuWa VR beta - installer 1.0.6

Pre-release

WuWa VR 1.0.6 — window startup compatibility beta (game 3.7)

The affected Windows 11 Steam PC still failed to reach VR in 1.0.5. This follow-up repairs an unchecked DirectX 12 window lookup: it queries the supported interface and falls back to the base swapchain description when needed, while retaining window validation. Steam process checks now use limited access and retain verified identity only while the same process handle is alive. Repeated log lines are compacted so startup transitions remain visible. These are compatibility repairs and better evidence, not a confirmed fix on that PC; its retest and headset acceptance remain pending.

Update the app to 1.0.6 when idle, then in step 02 > Versions & updates explicitly
select beta-2026-10-06-window-startup and install it. The backend and helper changes
are in that VR package. Updating the app alone preserves your old selection.
Keep your existing graphics settings and runtime. Previous packages remain for rollback.
If startup still waits, copy diagnostics before retrying; do not start another injector.

WuWa VR beta - installer 1.0.7

Pre-release

WuWa VR 1.0.7 — window-filter startup repair beta (game 3.7)

The affected Windows 11 Steam PC still failed to reach VR with 1.0.6, after all three injection DLLs loaded. This update repairs two reproduced window-filter defects: its worker could exit while idle, and a window-title query could deadlock the rendering thread. Title queries are now bounded and performed outside the filter lock. Startup reports distinguish normal graphics warmup from an actual failure and stop waiting when the current backend shuts down. Per-attempt graphics-hook evidence now separates missing callbacks from rejected windows. These repairs passed background tests; successful startup on the affected PC and headset acceptance are still unverified.

Update the app to 1.0.7 when idle, then in step 02 > Versions & updates select
beta-2026-10-06-window-filter and install it. Updating the app alone preserves the selected
VR package. Keep graphics settings unchanged for this test. Older packages and backups
remain for rollback. No reinstall or driver change is required.

The injector runs automatically and closes after verifying the DLL loads. Its absent
window is expected. A loaded backend is not proof that VR rendering started.
