TWINE PC port v0.1.1
Fixes from the first Windows tests, plus a few improvements. If you're on Windows, get this one: v0.1.0 couldn't start a game after the setup screen.
You need your own copy of the game: a disc image of the American release (SLUS-01272), as .bin + .cue. No game data is included.
Downloads
- Windows 10/11:
twine-pc-v0.1.1-windows-x86.zip. Unpack anywhere and runtwine.exe. It's portable: settings and saves stay in the folder. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. - Linux (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12, Fedora, Arch, SteamOS...):
twine-pc-v0.1.1-linux-x86.tar.gz. Unpack and runtwine.
Fixed
- Windows: the game now starts after you choose your disc on the setup screen. v0.1.0 stopped with "SLUS_012.72 is not on the disc".
- Endless Mode: big frame-rate drops with some weapons lent from other missions, like the rocket launcher in Courier's rooms, at high refresh rates.
- PORT SETTINGS: HD MOVIES shows NONE, and can't be switched on, until you've added HD movie clips.
Changed
- Sharp from the first launch: the graphics card now draws the game by default, at a resolution to match your screen (6× on 1440p, 5× on 1080p, 8× on 4K). If your PC can't run it, the game draws in software instead. Before, a new install started at the PlayStation's own resolution.
- Weapon combos: a number key goes to the weapon of its group you used last, and skips weapons unchecked in the inventory. Q no longer counts a weapon you only passed through, so reaching the IAC Defender with 1, 1 and then pressing Q takes you back to the weapon you had before.
