Technical Changes

  • Chat schema v2 - Tree-based message structure with automatic migration
    • Messages stored as object { [id]: msg } for O(1) lookup
    • Each message has parentId forming a tree structure
    • Branches track fork points and tip (leaf) nodes
    • Lazy migration on chat access - no bulk migration needed
  • New API endpoints for branch management
    • GET /api/chat/:id/branches - List all branches
    • POST /api/chat/:id/branch - Create branch from message
    • PUT /api/chat/:id/branch/:branchId - Update/switch branch
