Importing History
A new vault is empty, but the agents on your machine have been writing transcripts, rules files and git history all along. Logos can read all of them.
Every import has --dry-run. Use it first.
logos import --from transcripts --dry-run # what's there, from Claude Code, Codex, Cursor
logos import --from transcripts # turn it into checkpoint candidates
logos review --candidates # promote or reject each oneLogos reads transcripts and queues candidates. Nothing is promoted to a
checkpoint without you. An agent with the ingest_harvest / ingest_distil
tools can do the distilling, with each claim citing the turn it came from (see
MCP Tools Reference).
Options:
| Flag | Effect |
|---|---|
[project] |
Only this project's sessions |
--all-projects |
Every project |
--harness N |
Only one harness |
--path FILE|ID |
One transcript file, or a session id for a harness that stores transcripts by id |
--keep-transcripts |
From now on, also keep a raw copy of each transcript in its conversation's vault folder. Off by default. The copy is unredacted, and vaults are often git-tracked |
--no-keep-transcripts |
Stop keeping copies |
logos import --from transcripts status shows candidates by tier;
… archive <dir> copies the transcripts they cite somewhere you keep;
logos transcript <session-id> prints a copy that --keep-transcripts kept.
logos import --from claude-md --dir . # CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md
logos import --from cursor-rules --dir .
logos import --from claude-auto-memoryThese go to the review queue (logos review), because a rules file mixes
durable facts with conventions that belong in the repository.
logos import --from claude-mem --dry-run
logos import --from claude-mem [--db PATH] [--project P] --yesclaude-mem's observations become memories directly, without review. To
re-import automatically whenever its store changes, use
logos config auto config import on.
logos import --from git --dry-run --months 6
logos import --from gitSeeds an empty vault from the repository's commits, so why <file> and
before_you_try have something to work with on day one. These also skip review.
