Live Latency & Is At Live Edge

  • Two new metric keys are available via reportPlaybackMetric() for live streams:
    • CIS_SSDK_PLAYBACK_METRIC_LIVE_LATENCY (BETA) - Reports how far behind live the viewer currently is, in milliseconds (wall clock minus the program date-time of the fragment being played). Recommended to be reported every 5 secs.
    • CIS_SSDK_PLAYBACK_METRIC_IS_AT_LIVE_EDGE (BETA) - A boolean flag indicating whether the viewer is tracking the live edge or has intentionally shifted (DVR, start-over, scrub-back).
