Changes in this release

  • Let personal Claude Code conversations choose a registered mesh with cotal_connect's optional space argument, without changing project configuration. Keep hosted grants space-bound, require disconnect before replacing a live connection, and retire a previous space's pending identity before requesting another.
  • A project the legacy launcher started writes no stack journal, so a copy of one, the folder a later
up took its name over from, and one moved away from its recorded path all read as a folder whose
own stack was merely stopped: status, ps and the other reads named this folder's last broker
address and said to run cotal up here, which then refuses the name or takes it over. While this
machine registers that space for another folder, they now name that folder and the step that
reaches it, or the way back when it no longer exists, and a bare cotal down there says the folder
holds the space's records and no stack of its own. A registration added by hand never redirects the
folder. cotal spawn --dry-run carries the same sentence and next step in place of reporting only
that a target could not be resolved, for a controller project's copy as well.
  • A bare cotal down in a folder with no stack now names the space the selected one is, the folder
this machine started it in, and the same down to run from there, for every stack cotal up
registered rather than only a controller one. It used to say only that this folder's root holds no
stack and point at "the folder where cotal up started the stack" without naming it, so a script
and an operator both had to find it. --json and --plain carry that refusal as structured output
instead of refusing UNSUPPORTED, so a script reads the same code as the plain run.
  • Report unconfirmed orphan retirement by lifecycle without claiming a despawn, a held name or a same-name spawn retry. Preserve the existing diagnostics when that lifecycle's hold still stands.
