Screenplay models can now describe how a subject moves through its lifecycle with statemachine, and how work is orchestrated around it with workflow. Both are checked, printed, round-tripped, executable in specifications, and carried in ESM v36.

Added

  • statemachine declarations that follow a read model, with states, initial and final, entering send <Command> and entering start <Workflow>, and event transitions with optional guards (#1118)
  • workflow declarations with trigger, action, decide, wait, approval, foreach and join nodes, edges between outlets, and nested specifications run by screenplay test (#1119)
  • Diagnostics PLAY0834 to PLAY0851 for the new constructs
  • ESM v36 with stateMachines and workflows; earlier versions are unchanged
  • Monaco and VS Code highlighting, completion and keyword help for both constructs
  • AcmeCommerce and Invoicing samples and the statemachines and workflows documentation pages
