RumbleDash v3.1.0
RumbleDash v3.1.0
The Polish Update. Goal labels stay readable as the numbers grow, and a progress bar that reaches its goal finally looks like it did something.
Highlights
- Short goal labels — once a goal passes a thousand it shortens itself:
1,000reads1k,1,500reads1.5k,999,999reads999.9k, then1M,2.5M,1Band so on. The value is truncated at one decimal, so a goal is never shown as closer than it really is. - Live counters stay exact — only the goal at the end of the bar is shortened; the current count is unchanged.
- Completed bars animate — reaching the goal starts a slow band of light sweeping across the fill with an inner glow, plus a one-shot flash at the moment the bar fills. Everything switches off under
prefers-reduced-motion. - The app matches — the desktop dashboard shows the compact goal, previews how it will read on the overlay under each goal field, and sweeps a band of light across a full bar.
Changes
- Goal labels are compacted on the OBS widgets, the server status page and the desktop dashboard.
- Full progress bars animate on the widgets, the status page and in the app.
- Shared number formatting (
format.rs/numbers.js) keeps the browser and the app in agreement. - Workspace version bumped to
3.1.0.

RumbleDash v3.0.0
RumbleDash v3.0.0
The native rewrite. The dashboard is now a real desktop application, built with Rust and egui, and the Express backend has become a small embedded axum server.
Highlights
- Native desktop app — Rust + egui replaces the browser dashboard: a charcoal interface with a single ember accent, a live status chip and one-click Copy buttons for the widget URLs.
- Embedded widget server — the app starts the server in the background, so the widget URLs always point at a running server. A standalone
rumbledash-server.exeis included for headless setups. - Everything v2 had is still here — the feedback form, the update history and the contributors wall moved into the app, and the old URLs still resolve.
- Drop-in configuration —
config.jsonis byte-compatible with v2 and every v2 HTTP endpoint is preserved, so existing OBS sources keep working. - No runtime, no installer, no Node.js — one zip, two binaries.
Changes
- The view counter widget (
/viewcounter) has been removed, together with the view count itself. Followers and subscribers are the only counters now.
