MyFox 1.4.0
- A new profile can be made, imported and deleted with Firefox open, and a new one opened in a window of its own:
myfox profile new --name NAME --open. Only switching the profile MyFox opens needs Firefox closed myfox profile rename <ID> <NAME>renames a profile MyFox created, with Firefox open- Firefox lists only the profile MyFox opens in its profile manager (
firefox -p): it rewrites that list while it runs and took back what MyFox had changed there. MyFox's other profiles live outside it, andmyfox refreshwith Firefox closed tidies what was left: duplicate entries, entries of deleted profiles - An imported copy no longer joins the original's Firefox profile group, where Firefox listed it as the original
MyFox 1.3.4
- The empty «default» profile a Firefox's first start leaves for versions before 67 (never opened, nothing in it) is no longer listed as a profile, in
myfox profile listor about:myfox.--allshows it marked as not a profile
MyFox 1.3.3
- Checking for updates and installing no longer use GitHub's API, which allows only 60 requests an hour per address: a few checks were enough for «rate limit exceeded». MyFox reads the release tags the way git does and downloads the files directly
- The bookmarklet styling is versioned by when it was last built with changes; installs updated to this version get it once more with the new version
MyFox 1.3.2
- about:myfox offers to give a Firefox account back on deleting a profile only when the import moved it there:
myfox profile list --jsontells it (restore_sync)
MyFox 1.3.1
myfox profile removeno longer waits for MyFox's Firefox to close: only the profile being removed must not be open. So about:myfox can delete a profile right from the page
MyFox 1.3.0
- Tab completion for
myfoxin bash, zsh and fish: commands with their descriptions, flags and their values, profile IDs formyfox profile … - MyFox sets it up itself: for bash and fish where they look by themselves, for zsh in a folder of your own in
$fpath(such as~/.zsh/completions); without one, myfox completion zshprints the script andmyfox completion --helpsays how to add it. Uninstalling takes it away again - An install updated to this version gets it with the update
MyFox 1.2.4
myfox refresh --checktells what an update would bring, the tweaks, themes, bookmarklets and MyFox itself, without installing anything;--jsonanswers in JSON- about:myfox shows the last check again on every visit, without going online: MyFox keeps it next to Firefox and takes out of it what an update has installed
MyFox 1.2.3
- Another Firefox's profile can be imported from about:myfox, and a MyFox profile made the default there: MyFox closes its Firefox, does the work in a progress window and starts it again with the tabs it had
myfox profile importcan move a profile (--move: the account goes along, the original leaves its old place and that Firefox's profile list), name the new one (--name) and open it once imported (--open)- An imported profile gets the MyFox theme that looks like its own, light or dark, switched on at its first start; the theme the original had would hide most of the tweaks
- The sync choices on import say plainly what they do: «Leave in the original profile», «Move to the copy», «Copy (signed in in both)»
MyFox 1.2.2
- Updates can be installed from about:myfox:
myfox refresh --jsonupdates without questions and answers in JSON what it updated and whether Firefox has to restart - The update dialog's «What's new» takes at most twelve lines, in the terminal too; the rest is behind «…and N more», which opens the full list in about:myfox
MyFox 1.2.1
- The MyFox profiles can be seen and handled from about:myfox:
myfox profile list --jsontells when a profile was last opened and whether MyFox created it,myfox profile apply --jsonanswers in JSON - The applications menu entry is described as Mozilla's own: «Fast and private browser», found by «browser», «internet» and «myfox»; a beta install is «Firefox Beta»
- The entry's texts come from MyFox's translations, every language at once, and a Russian translation shows in every Russian locale
