Side A v3.8.0
This version (3.8.0) adds two new ways to set the room Side A sits in
Album cover backdrop
- The release you are playing is blurred into the background at a low opacity, over the usual gray background, so text keeps its contrast
- Changing track crossfades the next cover in instead of flashing
- Local files use their own embedded artwork, not the last streamed release
- The sidebar, top bar and player bar turn slightly translucent so the artwork carries across the window
Solid black background
- A new toggle drops the gray canvas for a flat black room
- Text and accent colours stay as they are, and the other backdrops are hidden while it is on

Side A v3.7.0
This version (3.7.0) turns Shuffle play into a mix drawn from your whole collection instead of a single release
Shuffle play builds a mix
- Gathers up to 60 random tracks from as many as 24 releases, three per release, and starts on a random one
- Draws from what you are looking at, so filters and sort (purchased only, an artist search) decide the pool
- Spreads the tracks so one release never plays back to back
- Shows "Building mix" while it gathers, and skips a release that fails to load instead of stopping the mix
- Up next numbers tracks by position once a queue spans releases, so a mix no longer shows repeated album track numbers

Local library
- Add one or more music folders and scan them without moving your files

- Single-track albums use the track title instead of the parent folder name
- Local covers and transcoded ALAC/AIFF audio are cached separately
Local playback
- Play, shuffle and repeat local queues with volume, media keys and a full-screen Now Playing view

Side A 3.0.0
Side A 3.0.0
A major update with new design options to make Side A more unique, there's also a new startup reveal, and a mountain-redesigned website
There's now a blurred dark and blurred light theme with a nice backdrop to it when enabled
There's a startup animation now, I find it cool
Secret storage has been moved to the asynchronous safeStorage API, finally
Download page and sidebar has had some redesigns to match the 2.0.0 UI redesign
The biggest issue since 1.0.0 was the recently purchased sorting not being accurate, that's finally been fixed
The macOS build is still adhoc-signed, so you can drag it to Applications and double-click it most likely
Side A 2.2.0
Side A 2.2.0
A new mountain backdrop and ANOTHER DMG background fix
You can toggle the new backdrop in the settings
It looks a little weird in light mode, I've tried to fix it but it might as well be super impossible
The macOS build is still adhoc signed of course, so just drag it into your Applications folder and double click. It should work
Side A 2.1.5
Side A 2.1.5
Added a tribute to a certain album, won't be that easy to find
DMG background has been fixed, for the hundredth time
Also the macOS build is adhoc signed so just double click it once dragged to Applications and it should most likely work
Side A 2.1.4
Side A 2.1.4

- Bandcamp profile photos now load in the sidebar, top bar and Settings
- Opening the owned release
void_19####byno love in the house of goldswitches to a black background and a pure white accent, then restores the previous accent and theme on exit - The DMG background is now 2640x1600 and no longer shows a right-click warning
The macOS build is ad-hoc signed.
Side A 2.1.3
Side A 2.1.3
Layout fixes for long titles and the Settings page. You can call it a bub fix
- Long release titles now wrap inside the album header instead of clipping on the right
- Long track titles now wrap inside their rows
- Settings uses a stable two-column grid on wide windows and a single column below 1180px
- Settings cards and copy now stay within their columns at every supported width
- Refreshed app screenshots and the DMG background for 2.1.3
Side A 2.1.2
Side A 2.1.2
A packaging fix for the macOS installer, plus a corrected app icon.
- Centered the Side A mark inside the application icon and regenerated the ICNS, ICO and PNG assets
- Centered the Side A and Applications icons vertically in the DMG window
- Rebuilt the DMG background as a light, high-contrast layout so Finder icon labels stay readable
- Moved the footer above the clipped bottom edge
- Refreshed the Welcome screenshot and site icon for 2.1.2
The macOS build is ad-hoc signed. On first launch, right-click the app and choose Open.
