Automations used to mean single rules. This release adds scenarios, which run in three phases: Start holds the conditions that begin one, While is what happens during it, and End holds the actions when it stops. The usual job for a scenario is a regulator that keeps the grid balance near a target. If you would rather not build one by hand, the new assistant on the Automations page asks a few questions and creates the scenario or rule from a template, such as zero feed-in, surplus charging or a heat pump. For zero feed-in you drag a band on the grid axis to set the target, with yesterday's grid power as a guide.

The other big change is who may do what. The dashboard now has named accounts with their own permissions, and it enforces them: an account only sees the pages it may view and only changes what it may change. Guests can only view by default, and an admin can switch guest access off. Home Assistant users sign in through the companion.

New installs get more guidance as well. During the first setup, a bar at the bottom walks admins through the real settings pages, and the installer can preset users, guest access and the look of the dashboard before its first start. After that, the checklist shows what is new after every update. Every visible feature since v0.8.0 has a tour, in case you missed one.

Among the smaller changes, the statistics page now works on a phone and the update bar can install an offered update directly. If a dashboard does not start, the live log in the installer diagnose shows you why without SSH.
